Thank you much, pawpaw. I feel the same way. I just hope everything goes smoothly, no matter how they grade. I want a good, positive first experience with this process.

Yesterday I told my dad that I was sending in the 1879-S Morgan for grading. I stated earlier that this was the first Morgan he purchased for his collection when he was stationed in Okinawa. Come to find out that it was actually the 1878-S. So I guess that will be going to NGC with the next batch. Shipping progress so far:

A minor shipping update: I thought it was kind of funny that the scheduled delivery date is 8-22, yet it was processed through Memphis at 3:00 PM on the 22nd. No big deal. I was pretty sure the package wasn't going to get there in just 2 days. Stay tuned. . . . .

Darth Morgan Thanks for the good update.
I did not think about the membership packet.
Sometime in the future plan on joining. So it is good to know that I will want to get the packet before sending my coins in. Of course I will have to pick some good coins to send in.

GR58- you can also submit your coins with an online form as soon as you join. That's what I did. It's just whichever method you prefer.

Interesting. Let us know what they come back as and if they exceeded or did not meet your expectations.

I think that one will get a PL even though the obverse is stunning.

Here is my ORDER STATUS screen as of today: My package was delivered yesterday, but since I selected the economy tier (21 working days), the "no order history found" status may be there for a few days. We'll see. Hopefully, others who plan to send in coins for the first time will get an idea of what to expect based on my first experience with this process.

You are spot on (in case you were starting to get nervous)... Items I have sent in via lower grade tiers take a few days to show up in the system after they receive it. Usually only shows in their system by the next day if you did an express tier or above. Side note (since this thread is more for people learning about the process), if you do send in at an express tier, dont forget to write "EX" in big bold letters on the outside of your package. Otherwise they might not open it for days.

Awesome! Hopefully wont be long now! Then comes the painful wait/length of Registered Mail back to you... Its usually the longest week of my life ;) At least you can see the grades online to hold you over once they pack it up.
