They'll need to sell it out just to pay for all that promotional crap...

Maybe I'm one of the few here but I really like these coins. The hologram and Man of Steel ones in particular. Not as fond of the shield as I thought I would be. The RCM really stepped up their packaging on these as well. Now, before I get flamed about packaging not being a part of the coin, let me say that displaying my coins is a BIG BIG part of why I collect what I like. The packaging is part of the whole product to me. I bought the Giant Coconut crab coin from NZM just because I thought the packaging was outstanding. It's also nice to see the RCM coming away from the always complained about maroon clamshell. I think this clear case surrounding the coin will look exceptional and appeal to many, many collectors. I know I like it.......

A couple of these coins look okay but with a 20.00 a coin license fee, and again what does superman have to do with Canada? The RCM are beginning to resemble the Franklin Mint, anything for a buck.

At these prices, Mr. Bennett could become known as the Man of Steal.

Nice photos, thanks , jpaiva83
As I said, yes, probably "The Shield" - the simplest one has the best look.

Just returned from the event... Will be short in description Not so many people as I expected - 2 or 3 rows on the Dundas square. As CC-Ottawa said - no real coins, but oversized "poster-coins" on the stage were presented by Mr. Ian Bennett. Some of the real coins pictures were translated on the screens, and also the un-painted "Shield" They also distributed some RCM booklets (English and French version)..was stated "one per person" but people took more. I think, RCM also sent some of those by mail. I took 2 and asked Mr. Bennett to signe on the shield coin. But....2 coins were real: CC&C shown real "The Shield" and non-silver one in the card. Wanted to buy - they refused In bottom line - yes, I do want "The Shield" as some Superman/RCM milestone. I can post some of the pictures, later, if someone interesting.

Silveroid - were the booklets just of Superman, or were they of the entire September release?

Quote: Silveroid - were the booklets just of Superman, or were they of the entire September release? They about RCM "Superman" release. With some real pictures and the pricing. I asked for one, and was given the french version "due to mine french accent", and later I asked for the English one. Went up to the stage and asked Mr. Bennett to sign over the "The Shield" coin on the french version. Saw some people took 5+ of these...

I just ordered the full 7 coin set including 2 gold coins [which is all you can order.] It says on the RCM website that these coins are only available in Canada and the US.....These coins should be very appealing to any Superman collector.... and to myself who is a Coin Dealer/collector and a Superman fan with a small Superman comic collection they are irresistable. In fact I seldom order the RCM bling but who can resist a gold coin with just a scant 2,000 mintage which claims to be the only Superman coin ever released by a govt. Mint? If any of the gold coins are still available by the end of today I would be shocked. I think they are nicely designed and the RCM has actually used so called Kryptonian writng on the reverse which apart from the CANADA 75 DOLLARS 2013 is the only writing in the legend. Brilliant release by the RCM.
