I've got emails from both CA and CC&C regarding the Superman coin releases, pictures and everything, and yet nothing from RCM itself. Really on the marketing ball, aren't they?

Thank you for the pictures jpaiva83. It looks like it really does take some effort to make that coin. I'm pleasantly surprised. I would mind having one of those. The stand alone coin looks pretty good. So does just having the red there by itself.

Here, below, photo of 2 real coins from the Toronto RCM Superman coins event. The guy, who is holding the coins- some one "big" from CC&C, I do not watch the "Shopping Channel", so do not know, who is the owner. Sorry for not perfect focus, but he posed for some media photographer, and I was aside: The Shield: CuNi Coin and stamp:

Some funny sequence of the photo's from event. No, they didn't say that, but when I look over the pictures, I imagined that. "Please, come closer to stage and see the coins" "No, no, no! Not all of you! We do not have real coins here!"

Well before I get serious... CC-Ottawa said: Quote: At these prices, Mr. Bennett could become known as the Man of Steal . That's a good one, CC! Also Silveroid has also made me laugh with the above photos from the unveiling. Now, I know I totally dissed the Superman coins last week before I have a chance to see them and learn more about how they have being produced, however, I have since substantially changed my mind. Firstly, I should say that when I was kid (a long, long time ago) I read Superman comics. Unfortunately my Mom did not approve. One of her friends had an older son who was no longer interested in comic books, and one day when I was visiting them with my parents, his mother gave me a big cardboard box filled with Superman and other comics. This would have been in late fifties. Needless to say I was ecstatic, but not for long. A few days later my Mom made me throw the box and all of its contents in the garbage! Ever since this "tragedy", Superman has had a special place in my heart. So now that I have seen these coins (along with my wife who also grew up in comic book culture), I have changed my mind and am thinking these coins are pretty cool. We have ordered four (the shield, the hologram, the "Modern Day Superman", and the "Vintage Superman" coins. P.S. Thanks Silveroid for posting all those photos of the coins and the production of the shield.

May be, if you want to "resurrect" those thrown away comics, and keep something related, for the long period, you may buy some of them as "set of memories".

RCM is just attempting to develop a market for younger collectors.

Does anyone know what are those "symbols" around those super man coins? Are they come from the comic books.

All power to the Superman fans out there! Now, if these sell well, I wonder if the Mint will continue with the super theme? Batman might be appealing. I might go for Spiderman coins.. hmmmm.. Aquaman? Let's not forget Wonder Woman... I can see it now... an enamel Batmobile silver coin... hologram Green lantern and Flash silver rings... heck, this could go on for years, as the prices keep going up and up!
