Hello. When I'm took photos this 1872 penny, I saw nice die cracks - at "STAT" and near date. Do you know is this some known variety? Any premium value? Pictures aren't too good, but I hope you can see what's important:) Thank you for your help.

Die cracks generally fall in that category of "interesting" but rarely in themselves merit a premium.
Mostly they are used as diagnostics for determining die pairs.

Your obverse die crack at 10 o'clock is well on its way to becoming a Cud.
But that's about it.

Looks like it may be fake due to the surfaces, very uneven and either porous or looks to be bumps from counterfeiting.

You've scared me... Surface, where bumps are, is much darker and little shiny, I thought that coin was laquered and these are the remains. Higher points of coin and edge have correct color - there are no little bumps. Weight, diameter and thickness is correct. Also, I bought this coin from "big" coin seller with 100% positive feedback. I hope it is not a fake...

I don't think the coin is fake, just has a light corrosion on the surface and a very bad scrape on the obverse. The die crack is well on it's way to becoming a full blown Cud. Won't add much in value on a coin in this condition, maybe a few dollars.

corrosion is very common on this era of the Indian cents. The die crack on the date is in a common location - and one Snow variety has this die crack although I haven't had time to look it up yet. The die crack by STATES is almost a die break ( Cud) and is pretty cool. In this condition, though, there still won't be much of a demand.

Thank you for all your opinions. Robbudo, if you will have a time, please check this Snow variety, I would be grateful.
