I got a new $100 2 days ago, I've already spent it though, it was an LJ-A from FW.

I was just checking the few that I received and I usually don't look this close at a lot of the nuisance details but I have not heard of anyone mentioning this, has anyone notice that the time on the clock has changed. Since the series 1928 it was 4:10, on the new ones it's 5:50, hooray for me, I made a discovery, , I think, then again maybe not Bill Collector

What purpose does it serve putting an old date on the note? They clearly were not issued until this year.

"Looks like the clock reads 10:30 to me"
That could be, and I guess the older ones could read 2:20 instead of 4:10, my eyes are not good enough the see the numbers and hands that well, but the bottom line and the important thing is that it's the first time since 1928 that the hands on the clock has changed. Bill Collector

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United...-dollar_billThe time on the clock of Independence Hall on the reverse, according to the U.S. Bureau of Engraving and Printing, shows approximately 4:10 on the older contemporary notes and 10:30 on the series 2009A notes released in 2013.

I've see 20 come through the credit union where I work in Alaska. They were all received by one teller and are in the 70 million serial range.

OK, If they say it's 10:30 I guess we have to believe them. Did they say why after 80 years or so it was changed, and if it was AM or PM ?. I know none of this is really that important but it's something that I noticed even with my bad eyes. Bill Collector
