I do not live in in the GL area nor Canada nor the Americas. That you discuss what are real canadians are and argue what makes a difference show me as an "outsider" that you are one nation! Only with that freedom to question anything and talk about it make you a lively nation and in your case real canadians!

Thanks very much, Pixu!

I hope most Canadians value our freedoms and honour those who made the sacrifices fighting to preserve them.

I also received a confusing invoice for the GL sub. It's my first time subscribing to a series so there might be a simple explanation. When I placed my order I received an invoice for the coin plus shipping (plus tax on the shipping). Then the next day I received another invoice but the total is just the shipping (plus tax). What does that mean? I'm puzzled

Do not worry Swedish Chef, as arianzo said, this is normal with subscription orders.

Now let's hope the mint's delivery of these Great coins will be abnormal. In other words on time!

While I learned the Great Lakes in school, which was decades ago, the Great Lakes are never on my mind. The only times when I am aware of them when some disaster occurs on them.
But more power to those who like the coins; it is just not my cup of tea...

I would have to agree with you MoneyPenney, I would not want to drink a cup of tea made from untreated Great Lakes' water!

Yes, arianzo....
what I said, isn't some exact estimation, so I used "almost all"

But meant - almost all active members of the NCLT thread.
The GL is one of the most discussed items from Nov release, and since it subscription - it we'll continue with this.
So the coins caught people attention

Well my way of thinking on these GL coins is that I would not want just one lake coin and seeing that we know there will be five, if your buying any GL coins you really are better off with the set. So that in itself may make the single coins not sell very well and not everyone likes subs....I think the subs will be sold out but not the singles. IMO , not that means anything lol.

I can't believe this GL sub is causing so much debate. I think it is such a beautiful coin that collectors not related to the GL's and any great way are a little jealous. I have spent a great deal of time around Lake Superior, Huron, and Erie, I can't wait for these coins. They may not have any appreciation, but they are going to look good in my collection.

The fact that the Great Lake subscription has not sold out is not unusual. Subscriptions sometimes take time to sell out but most eventually will.

The problem is that they put the coins mintage (10,000). If they'd indicate the box mintage (1,500)I'm sure it'd be a sold out now.

But $99 it was an issue price.
I do not know, if people here after MC and public releases still need it for issue....below - yes.

But thanks for URL, allspice, friend of mine suddenly decided to buy it.

Does anybody else sort of find the st George slaying the dragon a little disappointing. There's lots of detail but you can't make anything out. I think some higher relief and different finishes would have made a difference.
