I will add to Losword's answer: Since it will be available on the website for MC (that suppose to be today), start to search ebay listings, definitevelly you will start to see the pictures of some of the new coins.

Thanks to Lostword & Silveroid.
I really like the design of the polar bear and the caribou. Do you think they are in the same series and more coins in this style will come later?

Thanks, trobo, for the calculations
I was not clear and the numbers on the coin appears confusing. So, in bottom line:
Yes, it does contains 5 Oz of fine (.999) silver. But the coin itself doesn't pure - I judge by .925 that appears on it - so its weight bit more then 5 Oz.
And the question is - so why not produce just .999 purity coin? Technology limitation, old equipment?

Quote: I really like the design of the polar bear and the caribou. Do you think they are in the same series and more coins in this style will come later? When I emailed my mint contact yesterday with this same question he indicated to me that at this point they are stand alone, single coins that are not part of a planned series. Who knows, this might change but right now they are not a continuing series.

So this is weird. The 2013 Number 11 brochure arrived in the mail today. It says the coins will be available on mint.ca October 29th. Strike one. The cover has the Lake Superior coin which was not in the pre-release yesterday Strike two. FYI, the LS coin is really nice and is available as part of a Great Lakes subscription or alone for 114.95$. The sub is 5 coins in a nice wooden box. Release is November, March (Ontario), June (Erie), October (Huron), and February (Michigan) 2015. Long drawn out wait for that set. Mintage is combined 10k. It's oz pure Ag and 38mm. It's proof with blue enamel. Case shipped with the second coin. edit to add: another Mint first. "Crafted to perfection with raised land against a translucent enamel filled lake." Very interesting.

Welcome trobo, it's nice to meet and hear opinions of people in far away countries. It gives a new perspective on the discussion. I never would of guessed Canadian coins would be popular in your country. Can you tell me, are colored wildlife coins popular in Europe ? I look forward to hearing more of your opinions.

The brochure also shows the February 1/2oz O Canada Grizzly bear and the October Northern lights which is coloured and it suggests the 'free' cardboard box has a retail value of 29.95$.

It's great hearing everyones thoughts on the new releases!
I like the coloured Polar Bear and Caribou.
What are everybodys thoughts on the 1-1/2 oz Polar Bear. The bullion coin looks pretty good so is the premium worth it for the proof. All thoughts welcome!
Hi CC_Ottawa, do you think the subscription would be the way to go for this series?

pocket change 50: Thank's. Personaly I don't like colored coins. I can't speak for Europe :), but in my area, people prefer classic coins. Like set of 6 1oz wildlife. Germans flooding the market with different color variations of coins(euro, dollars...) It is a pity that the RCM has also begun to paint coins. Canadian coins do not need it.
