For the record folks, the 2012 Olympic Summer Games took place from July 27 to August 12. I ordered a 2012 Lucky Loonie on May 21, 2012. It was shipped on October 16, 2012. It was just a tad too late to be lucky... It is primarily for this reason, as well as the repeat design that I won't be ordering one for the 2014 Winter Games (February 7 to 23).

So, Gatewest announced: "Announcing!! VIP Bonus Points Rewards" as someone here guessed.
And CA has a free shipping on some of new (January) coins.

It's sign of the times, the RCM is simply oversaturated the market and the major dealers see the writings on the wall and are starting their own forms of discounting.

Yup, yet another rewards program. I expect the kid who shovels my driveway to start one soon. These programs don't really motivate me to buy; I think discounts and free shipping are much more effective. But those are hard dollars for dealers where as rewards points cost nothing (other than admin costs) unless the point holder uses them on a future purchase. That said, I guess we give GW credit for the effort.

I like this design, at least, it's a new one, but it's confusing...

Here's my guess. The mint planned to produce the coin shown on CP website but didn't get it everything in order quickly enough (or they had problems recreating the image on a dies) so they fell back on the 2012 design and put a '2014'. Unfortunately, CP got the drawings of the 'new' coin and inadvertently published them today on their website. Let's see if the new design coin really exists.

...and the Canada Post lucky loonie is gone. No longer on the website. I guess it will be replaced by the 2014 'replica' of the 2012.

I was looking at this new coin design again. I've seen something like this before but I don't think it was on a coin,..... maybe bathroom wall paper ;-) or it might have been one of those optical illusion books

Who knows, maybe the CP does have different edition.
Both are good, but the second one is a new and interesting.
