@thecoinshoppe Cool. Just was confused since you mentioned customers referred you here when I thought you'd been a member before.
No offense intended and no issue with you using a new account - just wanted to clarify if you were the DT Toronto coin shop or another.

I should have been more clear - it was suggested by a couple of my customers to have a business presence on the forum

Quote: Gwako is/was personal account and didn't represent the company accurately. This is the companies account. But isn't Gwako and CoinShoppe the one and the same since Gwako is the owner of the CoinShoppe? So irregardless of what name he is posting under, it is the same person. But that's fine with me. Quote: I should have been more clear - it was suggested by a couple of my customers to have a business presence on the forum I thought that is prohibited by forum rules.

@thecoinshoppe/Gwako. How come you have time to post on a different forums. But you don't have time to answer to e-mail questions at your online store?

The picture of that maple does look gooooooood. But I'm still on the fence about that price tag. The original lunar maple collection has that finish and I've always been a big fan of it. ( but those maples are priced a lot lower. )
I got a shipping notification today from the mint. Looks like they are starting the new year off correctly.

Moving on - would love to post in hand pictures - whats the rule for watermarks on this site - as we dont want our in hand pictures stolen.
If you want to post pictures of coins you need to be aware of one important rule; you can't post pictures of coins that aren't released to the general public. i.e. coins that are ONLY offered to Master Club members cannot be seen by anyone else. As far as watermarking I'm not sure. But taking pictures of RCM coins and putting a watermark on it does not give you any ownership of that work. Since it's not yours, technically it cannot be stolen from YOU. But I'm not an expert on this topic. There was a great post by SPP-Ottawa on Copyright Quote:Quote:
It violates copyright.
Actually, it does not. You have every right to be annoyed and it is very uncool for the seller to do that, but don't try to claim copyright to something you don't own. For modern coins (NCLT) what you create with photographs is classified as "derivative works". You are, in essence, copying what the engravers and the Royal Canadian Mint hold the copyright to. You can take all the photos you want, of their "art" but you cannot claim copyright or gain financially from images of their coins. You could claim copyright, for example with thematic groups of coins, or creating art using coins, or by adding colour to coins. http://www.mint.ca/store/mint/about...erty-1800010Should you want to claim copyright, using a coin from the Royal Canadian Mint, you have to use this form: http://www.mint.ca/store/dyn/PDFs/R...ation_v1.pdfWhen it comes to intellectual property and online posts which are publicly accessibly, see this link for sharing information: http://creativecommons.org/licenses...0/deed.en_US

I thought that is prohibited by forum rules. What would be the difference with Gatewest?

Im not sure on the watermarking part either but have come up with a plan (which I've seen done on another forum) so members can see the coins. Picture will be up shortly.

So I wonder, does this new program from Gatewest, is it like an open admission that sales are down and dropping for coins, especially since RCM makes so many AND prices for PMs are down.... hmmm I wonder. and when I say down, as in for dealers in general...

yup7676, I believe the entire NCLT market is down, which in turn affected sales of big dealers like Gatewest. Canadian Coin/Currency and Colonial had a big year end sale, as did Canada Post with its 15% off sale. You could have bought most of last year's coins on sale.
