@canadian_coins : You learn the lesson : buy low, sell high... Now with gold NCLT coins at 2600$, the chance to make big profit in the future is almost impossible, except if the gold spot price skyrocket, but with the US economy gaining pace, the Europe says the will get out of recession this year, the golden age is in my opinion over... I think the gold spot price will at the end of 2014 will almost reflect the price as of today... But if a nuclear bomb is launch from North Korea, it will be another story!

Quote: Catalogue arrived today. Nice to hear, thanks Kuh_85So, according to the logic, today is the release for MC with Reps, and tomorrow - MC release, when the coins will be loaded to the website.

I've just received my catalog as well... No mention of $100 for $100. I might buy the 1/29 oz gold as I have the blue not, the penny and the cougar

Quote: I might buy the 1/29 oz gold as I have the blue not, the penny and the cougar is it about gold 50c (with the Beaver)? Does it have the same dimensions (diameter) as original 5c coin?

Yes the 50cent beaver looks interesting. I'd like to add it to my collection but I already know it's going to be too small for me to enjoy it fully. The $130 price tag doesn't seem right to me.
I'm not sure what to make of Silver Maple bullion replica in reverse proof. I collect maples and probably need this one otherwise the collection would be missing but $80 seems a little high for just the reverse proof finish. ( or maybe I'm just becoming a cheapo now a days )
I like the 100 wishes for good fortune coin, they even gave that nice display that comes with the lunar coins. I think they should've gold plated it, the added cost would've been pennies per coin. I still like the way the silver one looks.
Windscar was right the specimen set does looks good.

If the gold 50 cent smaller, than original 5c - yes, it will be too small (like the "Farewell Penny" golden 1c)
The Maple Leaf replica - without seeing the pictures, I still assume, that it isn't Reverse proof, but has a Matte Proof finish, for which $80 is acceptable (we did pay $40 for 1/2oz O Canada with Matte Proof finish)

Yes it the same size as the other 1/25 oz coins. They did how ever lower the mintage to 7,500 which is when comparing that to other small gold coin released in the pass.
The reason I feel the replica is over priced is because ( I could be wrong ) they have the die already made and production didn't have to skip a beat. They essentially just change the finish. Where as the other 1/2 coins artist were hired to make a new design and every had to be done from scratch. ( exclude the queen )
It feel like they took the year of the horse silver maple ( reverse proof ) and removed the horse, then gave it a coa and box. I don't dislike the coin I just don't agree with the price just for that finish.

At 80 bucks for the sml replica, it is pricey these days. But if the mintage were 5000, that would be more acceptable.

I'm struggling lately to be excited about any RCM releases and this one is little exception. The 1/25 oz (or 1.27g) makes no sense to me. I like the classic design but why make it 50 cents? I guess it becomes part of one of the 1/25th series but if not, it should be 5 cents (like a circulation nickel). The 2010 Caribou was ok at 25 cents (like a circulation quarter) though it was a smaller 0.5g. I have all of the other small gold coins but this one may be where I stop collecting them...or look for a deep discount in a few months. I can't condone $230 for an annual proof set. Pass. Even though I collect SML, there is nothing special to me about that reverse proof SML that would make it worth 80 bucks. Privy marked reverse proofs with similar mintages are $20 or more less. Pass. I like the 1/2 oz Adventures on Ice but holy beat a theme to death. I can't even think of how many recent coins have outdoor skaters - 3 or 4 in the past year or so I think. Pass. I will get the specimen set because it's unique, well done and somewhat affordable. I will also get one or more of the Fu coin because of the design and the size. Similar to the 50 cent Titantic, I think this one will sell out relatively quickly. And I have to get the proof SD to maintain my collection.

I also receive the booklet in the mail today. Can somebody explain to me how I can be convince to buy a replica of the 1oz silver for 80$? It's insane! And the 1oz gold bullion replica at 2700$!! No money from me for the RCM this month either... They do not deserve my money with this kind of crazy prices!
