So the flyer they send everyone says coins available on the website for MC on January 7, but they still aren't there! Does anyone know why?
Rest in Peace

I've decided to cut back on NCLT coins this year. With the gradual increase in bullion prices over the past 5 or 10 years, it was an obvious transition that the prices of NCLT direct from the mint would also rise. However, with this most recent release, it is obvious that despite Silver dropping below 50% of it's all time high, and Gold at least a third off the high mark, there should have been a downward trend on NCLT prices. There isn't. At $129.95 for a 1/25th of an ounce of gold, I just can't get my head around paying $3220/oz, when the spot price is at $1200 to $1300. I'll start only buying bullion. Even at $1300, the mint is charging 2-1/2 times the spot. The last time Gold was at $1200 the 1/25 oz coins were only $79 or even less.

What say we boycott the mint.ca till they come in line with their pricing? (continue to deal with your local coin shop instead, at least he has some wiggle room on the list prices)

I agree that you would think the prices would go down some. The US Mint lowered price on it's silver products..

Yes the prices have really become a deterrent. I won't be buying much mint stuff this year. Bullion is more affordable and has enough variety to be enjoyable. It also typically doesn't have dramatic price drops quite as quickly.

I think they made a big mistake with the maple leaf replica. Replica to me, means fake. Copy. No good. They should have just said reverse proof. And at that price point I'll pass.

But you get a really nice 50 dollar maroon clamshell...

Someone at the Mint is crazy for sure. I hope Mint customers are not.

In the email I received neither.
So, you're sure it's included right?

Yes. 99% it is an omission in the specs.

"The 2014 Uncirculated set, which contains the six denominations of coins produced this year, is a striking collection of some of Canada's most famous iconography and Canadian icons."

Happy New Year to you all!

Even before this month's release wife and I decided that we would be taking a break on purchasing coins for a awhile.

Now that we've seen January's crop we feel won't be missing anything.

It can't hurt to wait and see what else comes along in future releases.

Written to be kind to the mint...
