Sure, right after you buy a few hundred items from him to get his feedback to where it was and establish his reputation again.

Didn't see this till now Grape, but you are very much correct. I put a great deal of effort into establishing my ebay account, and having that all removed just gives me another reason to not want to deal with the company at this moment.

Thanks, SilverCents. I would be frustrated with ebay as well. My personal frustration with them goes back several years, actually. The truth is that they only care about their bottom line.

Precisely, as long as they're making money, they're fine and dandy. But it is what it is. It doesn't matter much, as I'm just another consumer. So I'm going to put down my sword and accept defeat, and simply move on with my life.

Indeed it is what it is... it's good that you're staying positive and moving forward.

These are only worth about £5 in good condition..
Fun-Thread---Worst-Coins-On-Ebay,-Etsy,-Craigslist,-And-Other-Buying-Sites!

Same seller also has a Brexit 50p listed for £31 so at least that's only 10x the usual rate.

It's the £5.57 postage that makes that 20p really sting though.

Amazing find! One has to wonder how so many toned coins could show up in one place.

Just lucky I guess?

Even if they were legit you'd have to be tetched in the head to try and sell them as one lot.
I know a couple of people that only really collect toned coins and what appeals to one makes the other one pull a face like you just peed in his cornflakes.

(The seller doesn't try to suggest it's natural toning at least - that's one step up from the usual cointoaster/eggbaggers)

It's probably best to have a separate buyer and seller account. Only use your buyer account to send emails to sellers pointing out their idiocy.

Hey Greasy Fingers, my thoughts exactly, at times I was laughing so hard, I couldn't contain myself

These insane prices for common coins and laughable descriptions make me want to

It kinda makes me wonder why ebay, Etsy, Craigslist, etc., can't hire us CCF members to verify and help correct the insanity, or at least recommend what a reasonable price should look like .

That would be too logical and easy.

The more things sell for, the higher ebay's slice is..
I have reported things that were scams before (mostly sneakers) and they take them down pretty quickly if it's obvious.
But if something (in general) is what it proports to be, they usually don't care.

Check out this Mercury dime listing with a "W". The seller told me it means it is a "War Dime". Seller got upset when I informed that the "W" is the artist initials.

I wonder how many more outrageous lies the seller can come up with.....let's see how many different replies we can get.
