Why hasn't this nice old silver coin gotten a C$1.00 bid yet? Could it be the C$34.00 shipping? I got hosed like this once before on a different auction site and hopefully learned my lesson.

Yes, gotta watch those shipping fees. A few years ago I was pulling the trigger on an ebay 'by now' purchase when I noticed a $45 shipping fee for a single coin--purchase price of $8.99. Stopped that in a hurry! The seller's other listings had similarly appalling fees.

Here's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to acquire some "very very rare" UK decimal coins for only £100!
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/124811106574
The item description and photos don't seem to match, and some of the photos are so blurred that you can't make out the dates on the coins. Plus there's a 1979 2p pictured that looks like it was picked up from a parking lot...

This "rare" circulated 1944 Wheat cent for $299 caught my fancy this morning.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/274905314463

Not to be outdone, got one for $299.95 here:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/353589995880

Going for $300:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/363107430652

And one for $379.99 here:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/403063934603

Finally, the "King" of all copper 1944 Wheaties can be yours for $999:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/353365337376

A friendly reminder that you should be able to get a full roll of these for $3-$4 + shipping from most legitimate sellers.

Once in a while I see a coin 'ad' for POSHMARK, a fashion clothing resale site, on my Bing (Microsoft) news feed. The coins listed there are mostly damaged pocket change with outrageous asking prices.

The first time I saw one of these ads was about a year ago and I was so amazed by the fact that it was on my news feed that I had to do some research.

The coins I found were listed for thousands of dollars and were totally misidentified as Rare Errors. I thought if they could get my attention, why shouldn't I list a few coins too. To date, none of my over-priced but accurately described coins have been shown in the Bing New Feed. *sigh*

I happened to see another ad in my feed last night for a damaged quarter with the asking price of $25,000. I posted a comment on the coin and then did some looking around to see what else was up for sale. I found someone's 'Closet' (remember, it's a clothing sales page) with more than 200 rare and error coin listings.

Some of the descriptions are really entertaining! Like a mint cancelled quarter that's titled "Rare Test Strike Mint Cancelled Washington quarter" described as "This is One Of The First Minted 1965 Clad Washington quarters Which Was Cancelled By The US Mint. 1965 was the important year that the quarter changed its composition from Silver to Nickel & Copper, also known as a transitional year in coinage." and it's just a cancelled planchet. Not a quarter, not dated or die struck, with an asking price of $499. This seller has at least 2 of these for sale.

If you have a few minutes and want to see some really interesting 'Facts' about these error coins, go to https://poshmark.com/closet/sunny7777 and take a look at the coins being offered by this seller.

Here's an example for those who don't like the clicky stuff.

Search for 1982 Lincoln cents anywhere and you'll find a lot of people vastly overestimating the value of the particular variety they have, like this guy who claims his is an "error" but provides no close-up pics or images of the alleged error, and is listing it for $100: https://www.etsy.com/listing/101484...isting_bot-1
