That is troubling news.

There are fine lines between commemorating and celebrating, between respecting efforts and profiting from war. I sincerely hope that the Mint takes that into account before pumping out a hundred coins offered at extreme premiums.

One or two special coins is great. Monthly releases are way over the top IMO.

I wont be buying any war coins, commemorating or celebrating any kind of war.

$169 sounds more reasonable - this is RCM price for coins in sets (1 oz = $85 )

But who knows, the dealer may set $249 price tag.

Received the Feb RCM release booklet. It states that the coins will be available on-line and at Boutiques tomorrow (Jan 28th).

There is a lot going on with that 2oz design and it does look interesting. Some of the other coins are nice too but the prices and mintages are too high IMO. I like the falcon, 5 oz maple leaves, WWI coin and the jeweled tree but $$$$ and/or high mintage will keep me away.

The 25 cent Birds of Canada is good as is the GITD smiling missing link coin. Likely, these will be my only purchase this month but I'm not even sure it's not worth waiting to get them at a discount.

Available at the boutiques tomorrow? No special "MC only" pre-sale? I must say I'm surprised. Will definitely give them a call tomorrow!

I still think, that tomorrow will be MC (via Rep) release.
And this is mistake in brochure. also I understand, that probably only MC got these catalogs.
But this allows realy to everyone to call and claim (specifically if know item id) to sell the coin.

CC-Ottawa and Silveroid, I also suspect the catalogue was wrong. However, I will still call tomorrow and see if I can score an Eastern Meadowlark #13 Birds of Canada coin!
