I found the "Falcon" and 100for100 "Eagle" very attractive coins. The design of "Falcon" (coin itself) reminds earlier editions, while only the animal itself, without background, appears on the coin. Since the Eagle was already issued (i liked much and bought the 3-rd coin only), will not buy them now. Strange, btw, that the mintage of Falcon is 20.000 .... too much, I think. 2oz coin probably will be sold-out during MC. It not beautiful, but unique, with low mintage. Looks like will be "primary target" for people want to make quick money and will be offered for $200+ very soon on ebay....

I pretty much agree with your assessment, Silveroid. The fact that the Falcon has such a high mintage deterred me from buying it. The 2 oz coin by Tim Barnard looks way too busy for my liking. It's really not very attractive in my opinion. As for the Owl selling out... Well I can easily live without it.

I'm hoping the high mintage of the falcon will allow one to buy it more cheaply at a later date.

How did I get the new releases catalogue in the mail BEFORE my MC email ? Makes no sense to me...but I subscribed to the $100for$100 to continue the series...

Quote: How did I get the new releases catalogue in the mail BEFORE my MC email ? As I can guess, the catalog is also was distributed to MC only. Later maybe, close to public release will be sent to all. So, Mint here (and couple of last months) did good work with catalogs, that were delivered day prior or same day as MC release. And the mail it was (mine example) as last minute MC notice, that was sent at the end of the day of MC release. The MC release, when the coins will be uploaded to the site is today. Added: Noticed, that the "Falcon" designed as bullion coin (lettering about silver purity and content, $5 denomination), but with Proof finish. So now, I understand the mintage of 20.000 - the same as "replica" of SML. Will we see soon new bullion wildlife series?

From a non MC point of view, I have received the catalog in the mail marginally before I have had the email alert on at least two occasions as well, and also wondered the same as Royal Silver did. It certainly hasn't happened every time, but it has been a recurring event for me.

I´m sorry but the Snowy Owl looks strange - everything is done properly but those eyes... I can´t help they do look silly compared to the original the black part of the eye is far too small and unrealistc. Good idea bad execution IMO.

Looks like a deer in the headlights! Well, I'm actually relieved--no angst over wanting the coin, but feeling it's out of my price range.

Quote: Emily Damstra's peregrine falcon is also very well done and the 1st of a four coin series. A four-coin series depicting a falcon? OR A four-coin multi-animal wildlife series?

I just received the 2014 | NUMBER 2 booklet from the RCM. Some years ago I would have blindly bought all of them except the super expensive gold coins. Up until 2006 I even purchased the $350 pure gold coins. I would only buy 1 of ea. except in rare occasions for my kids. Those were the happy days. Anyway, there's really nothing that draws my attention except maybe the $250 kilo coin. But at that price it's out of the question. This probably means that I am completely cured from NCLT addiction.

Just thought and decided: too many coins (animals) and they start to repeat... I will not collect all the 100for100, but the chosen.
I quit loving them (100for100) also assuming, that real Proofs, with smaller mintage will come for the same.
So I have Bisone (2 coins) and Grizzly (1 coin) Ready to sell all 3 as a lot for face value with pickup in Toronto or Brampton.
Hope, I do not break any rules here....

I'm definitely not "cured" but I think my meds are at their proper dosages, so I'm definitely being VERY selective. Unless a new coin is "needed" to keep my SD collection current, I will be passing on it in 9 out of 10 cases (unless it is to be used as a gift).

Hey guys, did anyone else notice that the "The Bison: A Portrait" coin is already awaiting stock? I was on the site as soon as they updated it today but I never saw this coin in the new releases section. Did the dealers manage to buy all the stock? I really hope I can order this one.
