Another issue with CP, if they will have too many of these coins (big allocation). It happened with Glass Frog. An hour before MC release all reps and by the phone sales reps started to create "waiting lists", but the coin appeared online, and were there for one and half a day.
After it on the public release CP were full of the Glass Frog coins.

If this will happen with Gold Superman - to whom we'll sell this coin?

@Silveroid if it happens, then there is always the 30 days return policy, but the glass frog had a mintage of 12500, while the Superman gold has 2000, also it was 4th in series, and this one is second so that should make a difference

absolutely will agree. I'll just afraid, if people will see here a gimmick, and will not need even these 2.000 coins..... But need to say, presales going good.

I never expected a second gold Superman. Amazing that it is at the same price and issue size as last time. Anyone who owns the first one, will be compelled to own the second. Therefore demand is built-in for 2000 of them. I think the value of the first coin will be helped by this. Can't wait to get my coin! With the 'S' front and centre, I think this could be a bigger hit with Superman collectors than the first coin.

I think the first gold coin will be more of a hit for Superman collectors since that coin featured the cover image of Superman #1 from 1939. While the second gold coin is very nice, and does feature the Superman symbol front and centre, I think it appeals to a wider audience because it depicts the symbol. Real collectors could appreciate the nostalgia related to the first gold coin.

Hi all!

The Gold Coin is based on this comic cover:

"Real collectors" can see the significance of this comic book #596 right here:

@NuMoosematist
I'm trying to find that comic in my local comic book shops to go along with the gold one I'm getting.
Other than the $10 being based of of Action Comics #1
Here is the inspiration of the 3/4oz 15$

New-Superman-Series

And the 1oz $20

@ CanadianCoins

You should be able to find a decent copy of #596 at a reasonable price on ebay or Amazon.com. Shop around you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Having the comics (or anniversary reprints when originals are too costly) help to enhance the coins.

According to other forum (page 2667), the bidding on the first Superman Comics ended with winning bid of 3.2M , while both - seller and buyer are members of the forum.

Both of them deal with coins, so this leaves very far behind the action for "Farewell to Penny" last roll with 6.000+ winning bid.

WOW!

Haha, I too was shocked to hear that both the buyer and the seller are from RFD!
Ok, jokes aside I wonder how are they going to do the transaction, is the buyer just going to go to the sellers store or are they going to meet at an abandoned warehouse in the forest with like 5 guards.

I own all these comics except Action No 1. And don't forget about the stamps from last year (one of the booklets' cover was the image of the Action Comics Annual #1 from 2012. Will compliment the coin and comic book nicely.
