Where is the price of the 2014 gold superman going to settle at? Seems to be headed for $850 or $900... There are quite a few available for sale.

For the Mint, the 2014 Gold (and even the three Silver) was a complete success. I don't think any other RCM coin did as well for them in 2014 (and sold out as fast) as the four Superman coins. As for the secondary market, it was not as succesful as some thought it would be but there is still some profit to be had with these coins. That being said, I didn't expect them to release Superman coins in 2014 (since it wasn't an anniversary at all) but, now that they did and with the sales they got, I expect them (I'm not saying "I hope") to repeat the experience in 2015.

Hi thecurse9,
I have seen your posts/charts for the previous superman series, have you been doing the same for the 2014 release?

The mint will be releasing superman 2015. Why not more coins when last 2 does so well. Minimum triple series. Stopping at 2 years does not make sense

@Relic: No, I didn't.
But I saw that someone on the "other forum" posted some similar (even more detailed than mine) graphs for the 2014 Gold.

164 individual coins sold, so 8.2% of the total mintage sold in ebay.

Thanks for the post!
omxfl, the green line must be the average of all the coins sold since release... correct?
A 7 day moving average selling price of the coins would show a very steep price decline that has yet to level off. Hopefully this is the start of the bottom.

164 sold as individual coins (auction-style & buy-it-now combined), not 328. On top of that there were 20 sold as gold + silver superman coin packages. So all in all, we're at 184 sold via ebay alone - 9% of the entire mintage which tells you that these coins were primarily bought by flippers (well, that's my interpretation at least). The green line is the average since day 1. But yes, it would show a steep decline as of late, but prices have leveled off somewhat. There is still some demand around US$900.

I think the 2014 release has improved the outlook for Superman RCM series period.....and if they do a 2015 release it will be even better....look at the 2013 gold sales and current listings..even the L set is selling for almost 3 x cost....in the medium to long term these coins won't be forgotten..as an investment strategy these coins are a good buy right now....especially 2014 gold....meanwhile in Monaco where I am presently residing..the vending machines are starting to run out of 2014 gold Superman
