@Dominic....the tin box ,the Superman fakes come in, is the most valuable part in my opinion but, also in my unasked for opinion, if you want your son to appreciate coins then give him the real thing..I would go with the Superman Lenticular Set..its affordable and includes a stamp as well as a nifty fold out display all in one..i have them for sale and could do you a good deal . The L set is a brilliant piece of RCM engineering and is rather innovative for the ol RCM....if they released another one of those it would be welcomed I think...

The lenticular and Vintage Superman easily could be found, and other, as I said with some premium. But at least your son will get something valuable, rather then a set of colorized rounds.(original set created by RCM, even RCM didn't presented the coins as the set, so, to buy the fake "set", if you have some budget, imo meaningless).

The other thing I'd be concerned with buying the fake set is this: we don't know if they're made with any toxic chemicals that can leach out and harm people or pets. China is known for not adhering to staying away from banned substances. To me this would be a really big concern, especially if a child is to be handling them. More of these sets were listed yesterday. I just don't have the time to report these. At Cassidy great to hear your a collector/ dealer. I always wondered who mirror tree was. I try to support people from the forum if they have what I need. Congratulations on reaching 250 posts!! I wish you continued success on selling on ebay.

Ya you never know whats in some of that stuff coming from china, even metal could have radioactive material as china gets metal from everywhere and from everything... I dont buy anything thats made in china now unless I really cant find it made in Canada or USA , but thats even getting harder to do. Also even our food that says made in Canada or USA can still have ingredients from China but its still made in "Canada" or "USA". Its a like mine field out there and now with GMOs which they say is in 90% of products now its out of control. I grow a lot of my own food now , potatoes, carrots, onions, garlic , tomatoes , herbs ,etc, I only buy local beef and chicken. But I digress , straying off topic here lol. Anyways maybe want to have a Geiger counter when buying fake coins from China...

You can almost bet for sure most if not all the cases and clamshells for the RCM coins were made in China or near there.

Quote: Yeah, but watch out the Geiger counter will probably be made in China! Not necessarily. Buy the old one - from the "Cold War" era, or from someone near Chernobyl in Ukraine - they both will be USA / ex-USSR products.

The clear plastic cases from there for sure. actually will not be surprised if initial leakage (prior numis forum) came from the cases manufacture factory employee.

We have no one to blame but ourselves for the state that our country is in. China would not be in business if our big CA/US corporations did not order from them. Nike, Wal-mart even dollaramma exploit these poor third world countries because their greedy. But their not the ones solely to blame. The average consumer want these cheap products and keeps these companies in business that is the problem.

The average consumer want these cheap products and keeps these companies in business that is the problem. It goes deeper then that , you should watch the movie "Death by China" it will open your eyes up. The USA/ Corporations has shipped like 6000 industry's in the last 30 years to China which has cost millions of direct and indirect job losses , There is like a 4 trillion trade deficit between the US and China and growing..not good not good at all, China could basically take the state of Nebraska as default , and still People flock to Walmart and buy Chinese made junk, all the while causing the problem to worsen..but as people have less and less income they really have no choice but to buy made in China... I dont know whats ahead but the light at the end of the tunnel sure is looking more and more like a train...

are we getting off topic much here? You can't have it both way, you either pay the premium for local stuff or pay less for stuffs made else where. You folks complain about RCM coins that made from Canada. Maybe RCM contract out stuff made from other countries and it can sell at lower price or you can buy coins from Royal Mint, Perth Mint or U.S Mint. as for superman coin, I have to see them to decide if I'll buy them when they come out
