What China is doing, we used to do. Government sudsidised shipping, low tax rates, cheap labor, and a will to excel. I am not saying that all of the component pieces of the Chinese manufacturing dominance are politically, or socially attractive, but they got the ideas from us.
I have dealt with Chinese manufacturers many times, and find their dedication inspiring.

They actually just also have to eat, live and survive
the simple people I mean
while we care about authenticity of our $100 silver and $2000 gold toys, they know how to create cheap imitation of these toys, worth $10 and just buying more rice for the family.
Without blaming or defending, I would say, that the root cause have to be found among our economics and politics makers.

just called my connection at the Royal Canadian Mint. The new superman coins will be coming out first week of September. There will be a total of 4 coins in the set. The new gold one has been sold on ebay for over 1000$. There is a secret viewing at the mint this week for lucky master members who live in ottawa. September 2nd it will be on the website. These coins are said to be sold out upon release. Inside info for you guys tc. |

Its been discussed a lot on the other Superman thread, as well as RFD. |

I don't know how they going to satisfy everyone who wants a one of these coins after dealers and the post office get their cut. There must be more than 2000 MC members alone given it is so easy to achieve MC status. And I can't imagine any dealer selling the coin for issue price. |

this thread make interesting reading ....I am totally amazed that the RCM and Canada Post kept this new Superman series under wraps until a few days ago..Most of this thread up until page 5 was about speculation on the rumor of a new superman series..and most of us didnt believe it.....the only facts we have now are the August 21st Canada Post order deadline for their dealers...and Sept 2nd for the direct ship CP orders.....in between Aug 21st and Sept 02 there are 9 business days..which is a lot of days to order coins ...there are many questions which I hope will be answered over the weekend and early next week about when the MCs will be able to order..Aside from the ebay sellers offering gold presales starting at 950.00USD what do we know about when we can take steps to order these coins from the mint as MC members which I think actually means Mushrooms Confused in the dark of the RCM  |

You've got everyone ginned up ready to pounce on poor old Golden Superman, either for their collection or in the hope that they will be able to finance their early retirement by re-selling these coins.  I believe that the coins will be made available to MC members on Tuesday sometime after noon as is usually the case with new monthly releases. (But it might be Wednesday.)  Anyway I hope you will be able to sleep for the next 6 or 7 nights.  |
