RCM Rep said orders will be taken starting tomorrow, and I am pretty sure it will be gone in a day, and as for Canada Post taking orders on the 2nd of Sept, I think they will have a separate allotment that will be made available then. The rep who will be placing the order for me tmrw at 8am told me based on response it wont last long

I'm going to be calling the mint all day and won't stop until I get one of those gold coins! I'm not MC, but people always buckle under pressure, you should have to have the nerve to get what you want.

@CoinCanuck94 I don't have a rep but I randomly called and the rep who I spoke to told me that those with reps know about it and they offer to reserve and he agreed to do the same thing for me. By reserving he meant like they get first priority on the allotment available. He sent me an email as well confirming that at 8am tomorrow he will order for me and if it is out of stock he will send me an email. I doubt it will go so fast but I will still make sure by calling at like 8:05.

The flippers are starting to flip out on this new batch of Super-duper coinage...
I question whether the enthusiasm is truly warranted for this batch.
First and foremost...unless I am missing something...its not commemorating anything significant...or anything specific.
Unlike the far superior 75th anniversary batch...here we have basic packaging, for all the coins...including the gold item.
On the gold coin specifically...its the shield again but this time in black, (minus hand enamelling) which I guess can be said to be one of the modern versions but we can't even see Superman himself...some knuckles and a square chin...is all we get.
There is clearly...perhaps intentionally, absolutely no connection to the batch from 2013 - nothing...which leads me to conclude...that this 4 coins batch amounts to less than novelty-like... Even some cool Superman mythos like the Kryptonite lettering is lacking for this release...WHY?
Unlike last Sept/2013 - in this instance...there is nothing so unique, or new, or original, or unusual...folks...sadly!!
So hype down...sleep in tomorrow...the heck with calling your Rep at 8am and begging him to take your hard earned dough for what will likely find itself highly discounted quite rapidly...
On the "numismatic"-bright side...there may be something far more appealing from the other 30 coins to be release for September...

@electrum...i think you may be in the minority but I respect your opinion on the new Superman coins....personally I like the darker look of the new modern era gold coin and I really like the action 1 silver coin with the green car..to me thats the bomb of the release but I'm going for the whole series and until I can look at them in hand I really cant say for sure how much I will love them..one thing for sure I dont care for the 6 pack superman pose coin but ill probably still get a couple...im not losing any sleep over this release....if its meant to come into my hands then it will.....and I did buy the 3 golds from the presale for 950 ea usd..i did the same for the first gold as well and it worked out alright..mostly..i think I will be able to get one gold for the issue price but I'm not counting on anything else..i might try a phone call tommorrow but thats a long shot..i will try to order as a mc member but I think that is a long shot as well.........for the golds at least...if I get 4 I will be happy!! lol.......one way or the other I will get one of them gold dark superman coins...i will call the mint and ask for a tall gold dark....maybe that will cut through the ice....sleep well

@electrum, although this superman release is random, if you look at the people it is targeting: superman fans worldwide, and worldwide general coin collectors and precious metals there is a much larger audience for the superman coins. Lets compare it to the "ROYAL VISIT" coin, how many people would care about that in the world versus superman. Same goes with many of the Canadian iconic animals and other Canadian history etc. Superman is more mainstream and also based on last years popularity these coins will probably sell out and at only 2000 mintage for the gold I am almost 100% sure this coin will not be available at a discount anytime soon. Personally out of the 34 coins in the release what I liked was all the superman, and the stars glow in the dark pure silver coin.

Interesting, yeah, the gold coins (with the silver) were available for order with some of the Reps in the middle of the night EST.
More I look on the gold coin image, more I think it for fans or resale only. I think, since these themed "Superman in comics", the Mint with PO could offer some nicer combined product like set of coin and stamps / cards / "reprints"
