@ Silveroid thank you for welcome back!! I have doubts the third round of superman will be flippable, there's 11 coins already on the market. After reading topics on the 2015 releases it seems like the majority of long time members have wallet fatigue. I also noticed there a large number of people who became members since 2012 and have been in active for a yr or so. I did a bunch of checking member activity, as I read older posts or topics from 2014. It seems people are becoming much more skeptical. This could be a good thing if the world mints pay attention. Silver prices are no longer $30 an ounce and climbing. I look at myself and wonder what possession I was under to pay up to $149 for an Oz of silver, when spot was $18 - $20. I could of gone on a grand vacation.

Good to hear from you again PC50. Glad you are well. I thought the design of the 2014 Silver Superman Coin with the Green Car was well done. It was an original Cover. Packaging in 2014 was bad no doubt. If they have decent coin themes in 2015 and are affordable, I will get some to keep not flip. Not the Gold though, too rich for my blood.

looking at the 2013 Superman Gold coins on ebay..im mystified at the continued pessimism expressed by some members on the viability of investing in Superman RCM coins...if u can actually find a 2013 gold superman for sale as a solo ungraded unit you wont be able to get it for less than 2300cad$.....the price has pretty well stabilized and with the very scarce 2000 mintage my logical predictions from day 1 are now realized..this coin will continue to appreciate and become a 3000.00cad$ coin in the coming year or so....As for the 2014 Superman gold the price is now firmly in the 950.00cad$ range after 5 months on the market so by this time next year we will be probably seeing prices in the 1500cad$ range on a regular basis as these coins permanently disappear into collections..Its true that the Silver coins of both 2013 and 1014 have been less predictable investments but on average those coins have done better than most Canada NCLT coins as well....and they are gradually disappearing into collections worldwide as well..you cant make a better investment than that for Canada NCLT coins...so for all the pessimists out there in Canada NCLT land ......youd be better off selling all that RCM overpriced bunk and reinvesting in Superman.lol .Go Superman! and by the way I do like a lot of the Canada NCLT ..i just wouldnt invest in it for future gain....

I actually unloaded most of my 2013 Silver Superman coins , Just one Silver one left plus my 2013 Gold Superman , don't think I will be selling that. The silvers are really nice but I found I didn't even look at them so they found a new home. They still sell quite well, the only ones I lost money on were the Vintage silver coins mainly because I just wanted to get rid of those quickly.

@northern coins....well the problem with the 2013 packaging of Superman silver coins is the formidable task of looking at them...i find the 2014 packaging much better and easier to get at despite the looseness of the coin within..its also more space efficient for storage than the big bulky 2013 boxes

I think, these coins will be good for the mid-term investment. Long term: people do not care about any collectibles. The price will be steady high, just because the seller will not want sell for low. This is in my opinion....just recently watched some (not all) of the "winners":
2011 GiTD - no one wanted to buy the first for 90 + others for issue 2012 Penny Roll - sold for USD 45 1914 BoC HS $5 Gold - people do not want to pay $900, but 600-700.
Well, on the 2013 superman there is still strong demand.
And does someone know, if the 2015 Superman will be issued as always, in August?

On the other forum someone sells 2014 Superman, still sealed by RCM. CAD 900 only...so might be some of you need it. Too sad - people have no interest in Superman, the time had change...probably Sponge Bob Square Pants now more familiar.

Quote: You suggesting a sponge Bob coin lol For my kid they are (Superman , Sponge Bob) have the same level of importance. No, I not suggesting the coin, and believe that it already exists, but coloured, "Disney coins" style. But it will be highly popular, if would be minted High Relief Antique finish, or if will be presented in the plastic toy as "Crabs-burger" / "Sponge Bob house"

looking at the Canadian coin dealers and an American dealer without naming them I would say that interest in Superman coins is a proven fact..Most of the 2013 series is sold out and all the 2014 series has a nice premium over RCM prices. ebay sales are pretty steady for both issues ......there are deals to be had for sure but its an established market....some of the slabbed coins are hitting high 300s USD.....I think anyone who says there is low interest in Superman coins has to be trolling

Quote: .I think anyone who says there is low interest in Superman coins has to be trolling That's right, some people will try to attract the public attention to the other coins (that they sell) and not Superman. But if in the 2013 it was "novelty" and folks have been excited, in the 2014 people just didn't care. Why to buy again expensive, high mintage coins with the Superman, if so many related Superman stuff around - from the stickers to high quality coins replicas (they even nicer than RCM coins cause they all have similar size and comes with nice tin, plus the price). In addition - ordered 2014 Superman from RCM, but when I saw that interest so low that the best sales were 1300 (not 2000) on ebay - cancelled immediately. Ordered and got 2014 Silver Superman (first comic cover) - understood, that this basically gimmick, so tried to sell locally - interest was so low, that sold $5 below issue. Forgot to remind: **Collector from other forum tries to sell the 2014 Gold Superman in the best condition (unpacked) almost for issue. **Other mints these days offer amazing variety of coins with mintage near 1.000 units - all the heads tuned to them, instead of spending money to painted Superman stuff.

when a collector says that replicas are better than the original then I really have to remind that person that replicas are a bane of modern coin collecting....also the point has been made many times in this forum that flipping Superman coins, especially the silver , is the worst reason for buying them ......flipping NCLT coins in general is pointless due to the glut in the market ........when it comes to coins its always better to buy and prepare to hold for at least a couple of years if you want to make a profit. I agree that the buzz on the 2014 issue isn't as hyped up as the 2013 was but that doesn't detract from the viability and desirability of collecting them.......If u admire Superman like I do that is the reason to buy the genuine coins and other collectibles such as comics..stay with what interests you...Why bother buying coins you arent really interested in?
