so 470 lbs (troy) of pure silver is only 110 grand....(if I did my math right)
Nope. Not even if I could afford it..

This auction pictures are always fun to look at, take a bunch of coins, snap a picture, move the coins around,, snap another pic... so on and so on.

yes, not much a market for foreign coins here in the US outside of being sold for the silver.

Anybody believe the ebay seller's assertion that this "collection" is from a doctor's estate? Perhaps maybe a M.D. who later became a world coin dealer ........

It's possible that this was the accumulation of someone with more disposable income than a focused interest. I concur that it doesn't look like so much a "collection" as rather the result of indiscriminate buying.
