Hi guys, I need some help, I found this nickel on Saturday, at first I thought it was a US nickel, then I looked closer. I thought at first this was a PMD, but I started looking at the coin there are no obvious spots that look damaged, no marring whatsoever. I have weighed it and its 4.7g so I believe that's in the ballpark for a nickel, I don't know what exact date ( 80's) To me the coin looks almost like it was poured instead of struck, you can clearly see metal on the edge of the rim Can anyone tell me what happened to this coin? was it Struck Through Grease? was it some experiment? PMD? Please tell me I got a Error coin

I am sorry I don't understand all the new fangled jargon, what does p-1 mabye f-2 mean in English?

It's the two lowest on the grading scale, it should be PO-01 and FR-02. They stand for Poor-01, and Fair-02.
Your pics are pretty good, coins can be tricky to photo. Do you have a magnifying glass? What I do is I hold the middle of the magnifying glass right under my camera (hold the magnifying glass as close to the lens as possible) to take clearer closeups.
By the way, can you see the date on the nickel or can you tell its material (nickel, cupronickel, or steel)?

Thanks for the information, but The question is not Grade, but what the heck happened to this coin, if it is PMD? The date is obscured but from the effigy its 80's feels/looks like cupro-nickle. ok, so what happened to this coin was it melted? I do not see any scraping to indicate that it was dragged, or excessive wear. The weight is correct at 4.7g so its not material that has been added Is it possible to melt and maintain some of the field? Could this have been in some acid? I know it is unlikely a minting error, but if a triple clipped coin can get out of the mint, why couldn't something like this escape?

It's PMD. Looks to me is that it got melted. It was lying reverse down on something very hot. If it was nickel it might have been used as first an anode than a cathode, but this is cupronickel so I don't think so.
