Quote:The one that was posted in the link sold for $69.06 USD so roughtly $75 CDN (base on ebay Conversion). The ad ended at almost 6pm Eastern time which is dinner time for most folks in Eastern Time Zone. Heading to home time for the Mountain and Pacific time Zone. The coin was hot when it first came out then the second coin killed the series. So everyone is dumping the coin because they don't like the second coin and don't want to continue the series. Since this is no longer a hot coin, it shouldn't be put in an auction. People should only put coin in an Auction when everyone is looking for it. When no one look for the coin and you put it in an Auction, you deserve the price you got in return. I think this Third coin will bring the attention back to the series. No it won't be as hot as before, but people liking the 3rd coin may want to go back to looking at the first two coin. The Operative word here is MAY. Oops my bad, I was looking at the auctions at that link and saw $51 but the auction hadn't ended yet. But $75 C is still way low for the first of that series. As always its supply and demand that rules the price up or down and a 20% to 25% discount seems to be the new going rate of non "hot" NCLTs.

Also it's summer so there aren't as many bidders.

Apologize for posting it here.
I have 1-st and 2-nd Canopy, and ordered the 4-th. Now I see that the second is totally "out of series", so will keep the first and last one.
Reading the posts about actions and winning bids, I actually ready to ask for the 2-nd coin CAD 60.00 + shipping. If someone interested (and I doubt in this) contact me, please.

Ya I have 2 of the first and one of the second , didn't get the third or forth but will at some point as I do like the series just not the inflated prices ............... @ high mint prices. Plus I do like the second coin , it looks much better in hand as do most NCLTs.

I like the original artist's work a lot better. They should have stuck with Emily the whole time. I'm not saying Margaret Best is unskilled, but it just seems the coins don't belong to the same series. I'll probably pick up the last one if I see it for a good deal.

Quote: The fall coin is the 3rd coin of the series. this is not correct, Lostwords. The Fall was the 2-nd, with two leafs at the bottom. The 3-rd was the Spring (style of 1-st, but imo not as good as the first), so when they repeated the Spring, I didn't buy it. The last one is the true Fall by Emily D (as the spring was), so for me the 1-st and the 4-th really belong to the series.

This is a prime example of the RCM producing too many overlapping themed coins and they themselves got confused and even used two different designers on this series, what a mess.

Hey there's much coins releases compare to the stamps hype in 1990s... The mint is killing the hobby...

Oh come on, Mlalonde1977! Surely you don't mean that the mint is issuing too many coins. There will only be about 300 by this year's end. Also, you're not serious about Canada Post killing off the stamp collecting hobby by releasing a billion new issues a year. Note: For all of you who take my posts literally, this one is meant to be serious. Or is it?

Quote:do you think the RCM should have issued a ww1 1914 commemorative of some fashion honouring Canada and Allies An interesting idea - it might still happen! A few thoughts... 1) If any country were to issue an "Allies" coin, I would think the most fitting country would be the UK. Canada, for example, was drawn into the war due to its subordinate relationship to the UK within the Commonwealth - it was not a fully independent country at the time. It would make sense for the UK to lead such a coin program. 2) Before the WWI centennial period is over, it wouldn't surprise me to see a coordinated set of WWI commemorative coins released. The set could feature one coin minted by each of several Allies. I think it would make for an interesting set.
