Two terms are commonly used with top condition Mercurys:
"FB" (Full bands) and "FSB" (Fully Split bands).

In my opinion "FB" is a much better term, because it implies that the bands are fully struck up and completely unworn. The bands will have a rounded top to them, much like the crust top of the old style of a loaf of bread.

The implication of "FSB" is that the bands are fully split; that implies that as long as they are fully split, that is OK. Such split bands can still have some wear on the top of the bands allowing a flat top to them, or they are not completely struck up, thus resulting a flat top to the bands.

I have both "FB's" and "FSB's" in my collection, the "FSB's" with and without any wear.

Yes,the two used to be more prominent I heard and slowly over the years they both kind have merged. My album consists of dimes were all 3 bands are fully split by the lines and nicely struck. They MAY NOT be fully rounded perfect strikes, but what I am after is rater unattainable is such perfect strikes. Especially since I am not rich and have other bills I have to pay first =(
As long as the band lines are uninterrupted all the way across, then that works for me.

I love seeing these coins cracked out their plastic tomb like this! That's the way it is supposed to be! I wonder if the TPG's will ever offer a collector a grade certificate and put it in an envelope like ANA did in the beginning?

Tell us what date(s), that isn't obvious, you are especially finding that was weakly struck/ minted and hard to find like this?

I think I remembered reading on PCGS that as long as they are split they will give them the split band stamp, and that some people only accept the "mcdonalds arches" FB, and that is ok, but a higher range on their rating scale.
