As blocs of European nations were declaring war on each other, there was already armed conflict occurring in Mexico as that country was enduring the chaos of internal revolution. One result of this was that besides the coinage and currency put out by the central government, both supplementary and competing issues were being placed into circulation by insurgent groups and indivdual states alike. Here is one such produced under the auspices of the State of Durango.
