Does anyone know if it is only going to be the set of 6 being sold or does the mint plan on selling singles?

Proof low mintage isn't all that important...perhaps... Such a well produced set of coins...I've seen them in hand - very stunning YET today the Mint is trying to pump up sales with unusual promo... Perhaps more a price point issue.

Quote: On the RFD forum, someone has pointed out there are different finishes to the gold plating. Some coins have a darker finish than others. Has anyone else notice the differences? I don't think I see a difference in finish shading. Other then the mirror finish (ie: the water the Bluenose is on, the caribou antlers and the water the loon is on is all a mirror finish).

Whats really beautiful set! Thank you for the pictures
Too bad, it failed victim of overprice
But looking around and back, I really can name only few coins and sets (all only imo) that beautiful as this:
Masks Set Tribute to Nickel set 5oz Penny / 1/2oz Penny Penny Farewell 5 coin set 1911-2011 Special Edition Silver Dollar 2011 Kangaroo at Sunset 1oz 2013 20-th Anniversary Kangaroo
All simple, clear, amazing

Hmmm there is just something about this set that didn't appeal to me, I just couldn't get into large versions of my pocket change. Nice pictures though.

@Josh:
does it have on the obverse some imperfection, like the gold applied not only on the ring, but couple of mm on the field?

How is it overpriced when all RCM 5 oz coins sell within the $519 to $549 range? You can make the argument that all RCM 5 oz coins are overpriced but it is not fair to single out the 5 oz for being overpriced. Sure, they could have made it a 1 oz series like the nickel subscription but then they won't look as stunning.

Overpriced for many as a set but individual coin within typical range... Regardless, don't see that set price as an obstacle for everybody as it's sold out no? It looks awesome - love the quarter and dime the best!! Or to be more accurate- .25 cents & .10 cents my fav!!

They have not sold out even with an added $100 bonus and collector points incentives. http://www.cdncoin.com/Big-Coins-Su...bigcoins.htm
