I have been so overwhelmed with the collection since getting it. I did not realize how immense it really was or how hooked I would become. I have no idea how to tackle this, thats why I joined this forum. There is one member who has been a huge help. I'm not sure if I can or he wants me to mention his name, but he has been responsible up till this point with certain discoveries. Coins I thought were nothing special. We have begun listing things and are getting more together to be sent for grading. I also enlisted a coin expert to represent certain coins and their possible as I do not want the attention in publication/ media etc. as I have said many times in the past, I will not sell the morgans. But everything else may be sold as I dont have an attachment. I may keep key date stuff but certainly dont need dozens of each. But that is way down the road. I'm not even going to consider selling anything till I am better educated.

Should I keep updating this thread with my finds or should I start a whole new subject/title? There is a lot of you guys who want to see the cool things my grandfather had. I'm uncovering fascinating things as I look for this coin.

Of the 400+ gold coins in the collection please take your time for some could be worth a fortune. Looking forward to seeing more of this amazing collection.

Thanks jontookit. Out of all of them, theres about a dozen or so that are special. Chasingtailbar has helped me catalog most. I believe he said one is extremely valuable but I dont remember what it was called. If he reads this, feel free to chime in with the name lol

Amazing story. Good luck on your finds, and I agree with the above. I don't really see much of a rush in going through these, take your time and pay attention to detail on EVERY coin! Just a couple weeks ago I was going through my grandfather's coins as well. He had a morgan that was labeled as an 89P (it was in this uncirculated case), so just to make sure I flipped it over and it was a CC! I'll never know why and how that happened, but all I know is that I'm glad I flipped that coin over.
