After looking at several opportunities, I finally bought a short set of Walkers. It's just 20 coins, but it will be a great start. Only paid $160. Also got an extended short set ('31 - '45) of Mercury dimes, $115.

Now, on with the journey to find the members of these new families. If anyone lives in the Central Florida area, let's connect.

Augiedog,

I live in Avon Park... not too far from Lakeland. I'll be going to the Collect-O-Rama next month on Saturday at the Lakeland Ctr. Will you be going?

$8 a coin? That's almost junk silver price! What kind of condition are they in?

What did that Mercury dime set contain? Was there a 31D? What are the grades of that set?

I'm not going to collect-o-rama . I live in south florida and its too far a drive

i'd like to see the short sets. I do not think its as fun as piecing your own collection together but I understand the impulse to "have it now" and if the price is right and the coins are right, its not a bad thing IMO.

I probably spent as much time/effort finding this short set as I would have doing it individually. I thought it would be faster, but I was too picky. Here are pics.

Now the real work begins :)

Cool! Not to rain in your parade, but those Walkers look cleaned. Anyway, great start!

I don't see how you could call any of them cleaned from those pics...which ones do you see evidence of cleaning?
