This particular VAM does not bring much of a premium at this time; even in mint state. Coin looks somewhat beat up. This "darkened liquid" is it old glue?
With old glue as a good guess, yes, acetone should take care of the problem in minimally-invasive fashion. It's going to be a bit of a long job, though - it could take a few days to safely dissolve the glue. What dave said. Acetone is always a safe course of action to try to remove stuff from a coin. It does not react with metal, and will remove most adhesives and paints and inks. I would have that girl bathing away.
