Is there a time limit to purchase the silver Kennedy half dollar set, as in is the US Mint going to keep having for sale until the total mintage is sold or is there a certain date they will pull the product even though it hasn't sold out yet? Or it is up in the air?

With a tad over 30k sets left I would think they would be on sale for a while yet since, most likely, the sets are already ready to go
They sold just under 3,000 last week so I bet they will get to the 225k

So weird the set is still for sale and the graded MS70 are going for 250+ on ebay whole the MS69 are going for around $125 which is almost mint issued price... Is there a big difference in in the production quality or is it just the graded coin market? I'm new to all this and this is my first Kennedy silver coin and it was this amazing set!

I would expect the set to be sold out no sooner than the end of February and the secondary market price will stay/lingering at the current level for quite some time (recalling the 2012 and 2013 ASE special set).

I pulled the trigger on one of these on Dec.31. I have received it and the coins look fantastic.
To me it was worth the high premium.

Melt value does not necessarily reflect the worth of the coin. It cost that much because its special edition coins. For ex. ( A 2014 ASE cost $44. No where close to silver price at $16.)

In response to iamwayne, I purchased a graded set of 69s thinking that for the $122 that I paid, with 4x ebay bucks, paying by credit card,(110519) Not Allowed - Auto-Removed , I essentially got this set for less than $5 from the Mint's price (including shipping), and I got it graded. I'm sure I could have pulled a 70 if I bought a set from the mint, but that cost to have it graded would not have been worth it to me. I also received the OGP, so I thought it was a great deal.

Ahh, reminds me of extreme couponing for the purchases to drive down cost... Learned something new each day...

Very glad to provide help within my first five posts! I love my set. I was trying to buy it for less than the original, but even the original sets are selling for $110 plus online. I hope this set is looked upon fondly by everyone in another 10 plus years.

If the Mint sends you a MS70 set, sending it to a grading company can't make it any better, or worth more money. My guess is that there are tens of thousands of MS70 sets out there. Just because they haven't yet been slabbed doesn't mean they don't exist.
