That is what I thought at first when I purchased it but it is not Justinian.

A Tremissis of Emperor Justin II. Rumor says that after the defeat at Antioch he went crazy and ate two of his servants.

When I first bought this coin I thought it was of Justinian but Baldwin's said it was of Justin II .

AM, that is a very nice coin. I have never bought any Byzantine gold or any gold for that matter. Just too expensive for my limited coin budget.

Thanks Echizento . The only thing that gets me is that it looks like Justin got bit by a vampire :) This coin cost around what a decent Augustus denarius would .

Wonder where he is hiding.
If he doesn't have a guess soon, I'll have to delete that post - my 4-legged boss wants a walk.
