DrTones : Sorry you felt mistreated at Heritage. They have the most eyes of all the auction houses. You didn't submit the coin to Stacks-Bowers, even though they were the most enthuoastic about it. Instead you choose a weekly formatted auction house that has fewer clients than any auction house I know of ( although I am very fond of the principals there - they just don't have the customers that the other two have. ).
Yes , you are able to sell at your reserve price - less very nominal listing fees and selling fees. I wish you luck, I sincerely do.
When the coin is listed at Great Collections, would someone please let me know ? I do not check their site all that often.
Happy New Year !!

I just felt like Great Collections was a good spot for the coin. Sure I might be able to reach a greater market with the others (which I still might use; depends on grading) but at what cost?

I'm more interested in knowing what the third party grader of your choice says about the coin, including its grade, its scratch, and whether it's genuine. Sorry if this has already been asked, but have you sent it out yet?

Ok guys. Quick question. Judging by the pictures of my coin and your knowledge of the grading system/process. What are the chances the grading company will come back with "unable to authenticate"? does the coin have enough land marks left to definitively say it's genuine or not? Like I said before, the site where this was found leaves me with no doubt but will the grading company be able to tell me for sure? I guess I just dont know (other than date and mint mark placement) what other techniques they use to verify authenticity?
