By far, not the rarest or prettiest one in my collection, this was my first counterstamped coin, purchased almost forty years ago for $5. I later learned it was cataloged as a Civil War storecard from the single merchant town of Erie, PA. Researching this issuer started me on a now decades long quest for counterstamped coins.

I'm gonna stretch your definition of fantasy & (in the spirit of the ATB 5oz silver's) say I'd love nothing more than to own a 5oz gold Indiana quarter.

Quote: Owned = My 1841 petite head large cent... A lot better than mine... I actually like the petite head design a lot - it's pretty much my favorite in the entire large cent series (the particular coin above was a lucky $30 buy in a store where the only other US coins were $15 Mercury dimes and $45 Morgans).

Walkers, Peace dollars, and the political Hard Times tokens are my favorites for different reasons. I like the Walkers and Peace because of the Greek-inspired designs. I like the Hard Times tokens because who doesn't like sarcastic money?

My favorite that I own right now are Franklin halves...love the liberty bell on the back and I like that bald guy on the front...maybe it's because I'm losing mine too. :) Fantasy: Anything liberty Seated half dimes to dollars.

My favorite coin that I own is my 1922 Peace dollar in NGC MS-63. My "fantasy" coin is a gem uncirculated better-date Barber Half.

I don't think I could decide on what my favorite "owned" coin is, but I definitely know what my fantasy dream coin would be to own: 1895-P Morgan dollar.

The first coin I own that comes to mind is my 1798 VG large cent. It's not much to look at, but it's my first and only 18th century coin. And to me, it's what a coin over 200 years old should look like: old and worn!
Suffice to say that if it could talk, it would have much more interesting stories to tell than the same coin in BU condition. Am I right? Am I right?

My fantasy pick would be an 1894-S Barber dime. Of the 24 minted, 15 are still out there somewhere, waiting to be found.
