O.K. I got lucky when attributing this one. Sheldon describes 1800 as the toughest year to attribute and he's usually right. I (we) got lucky because the fraction line on the reverse is crooked which is diagnostic with S-192. It's hard to see but this is one of the 1799/1800 over dates. So, in my opinion this is an AG-3 S-192 R.4. Sheldon describes the rarity as the "upper range of R.4" which is pretty cool. Whew! what a challenge. I love any reason to break out Penny Whimsy. Awesome coin despite the lowball grade.

IMO, this coin is a perfect candidate for conservation using your preferred safe cleaning product plus q-tips and cotton swabs.
