Kamnaskires Pillar of the Community United States 7066 Posts	Posted 02/07/2015 6:49 pm If not Kushan, then an ancient imitative type from that region, perhaps copying the Kuvishka type with the standing deity/king on elephant. Kushan imitatives seem fairly common and are sometimes pretty crude like TC's (I mean even more crude than official AE issues)...witness this one copying a Vasu Deva (if link works)...similar stiff standing figure, with same type of worn circular nimbus: http://ancientcoinsforeducation.org...n+2.jpg.html Report this Post to the Staff

Ancientnoob Pillar of the Community United States 5155 Posts	Posted 02/08/2015 5:59 pm This looks like a very late or post Kushan imitating tthe coinage of Vasu Deva. The very small size and possible cast appearance reminds me a very late 5-8th century local coinage of Bengal. Report this Post to the Staff
