No, I'm afraid, these don't do much for me. I like art on coins, but these are just variations of the same theme we have seen in 2009 (moon mask) and on various other coins recently (e.g. Interconnections).

The set looks good! Time will tell if it will be a "hit" 3000 mintage is a good Number.

Considering the Mint has sold only 10 Moon Mask sets since it became available to the public 15 hours ago, I doubt it will be a "hit". Since the RCM is churning out coins at a break neck space this coin set will soon be forgotten. April releases are upon us in a few weeks.

This is the true, that RCM could give bit more effort and mint different masks in the set. Exampl: Lets say "Interconnections" set : native art cross animal theme - the coins similar but not the same, why not to issue them with different finishes?

Those coins are really impressive, I'm glad you posted the images. The enamel is very striking, too bad the images didn't also have some variation. The only thing holding me back is wondering if this set will drop 25% in the coming yr. I have a bitter taste after buying the coins I like at issue the past 2 yrs, and then seeing them for up to 40% of within the year. I used to buy what ever coin I liked. This yr I've set myself a budget for Nclt. This set takes up a third and we are only a quarter through the year. Prior to 2013 the release were quarterly and small. Now I wonder will I see something I like better later?

Quote:Just got email from RCM on a Batman coin anyone care to comment ? Comment required here.... The theme is good. Most likely will not be appreciated in the future, and more important: The coin issued (do not remember where did I see it first for near $150 (USD or CDN - don't remember). RCM now sells it for CAD 249? Here, at "The Coin Shoppe" buy it for CAD 184.99http://www.thecoinshoppe.ca/2014-2-...batman-niue/

Whether the Mask set goes up $100 or down a $100 doesn't really matter to me. I bought the set because I like it.

I'm wondering why the RCM is suddenly selling coins from other mints? I wonder if they have a deal with other mints to feature each others products? It's nice the RCM is taking care of the import side of things, it can be a huge headache with extra costs, if you don't know what you're doing. I'm not buying any foreign coins the weak exchange rate is the reason. It was nice when the exchange rates were close to each other. Anyone have any photos of the new silver cardinal coin. I really like the combined color and engraving. Again the price is a deterrent. It's interesting they titled it song birds. I really enjoy the Birds of Canada, the barn owl didn't seem to fit with the other song birds. There's definitely a lot of emphasis on subs so far. After two yrs of subs I'm subbed out. I used to get very excited.

@ Steel, do look at price comparisons and if you can find it shipped for cheaper else where. It also depends on your tolerances on the coin dropping in price after purchase. This becomes more of a consideration with the more coins you own. I have over 600 Nclt coins, so it's become a big concern. Someone with 10 coins may not care. It also depends if your a serious fan and collect the batman theme. However, with all the superhero coins being launched, since RCM's Superman, it's hard to say what will happen price wise in a few yrs. The best thing is decided why your buying the coin? Then how does it stack up against your criteria. Have you checked to see if there exists other Batman coins? It seems the best approach is to put careful thought into buying. Good luck in what ever you decide.

@pocket change thanks for the input. I am a novice collector I do have some Nclt coins but like you say , I do have the same concerns that I won't be able to get my return back so I am going weed out a fair number of them and keep the ones that interest me the most .
