Quote: How can it be 80% sold, it hasn't been listed yet even to M/C members. Their dealers scoop most of them up.

The mail has been sent to "Elite" MC members, and with given mintage of 300, to score 240 (80%) orders even for the $3000 coin - probably not so hard. It very nice looking coin.

You could have the 1 oz bass and Moon mask gold coin. Go to your post office and order them.

If indeed this set turns out to be a "Hit" then ya I would think it could affect the demand for the other moon mask coins. Mid- Release? Not sure what you mean. Also the price of this set in a fair amount of money so you have to factor in that as well, ya its low mintage etc but not everyone can afford $360 for a few coins, but time will tell I guess as its a dance between Price /demand and Mintages, as always.

I would be happy to follow the advice, but here the mintage is also low. Even if the set will not be popular, could be that it will be purchased mainly by collectors and there will be no offers. "Mid-releases" - I meant between the "monthly" release. What is the reason to release the masks now?

The 2009 Moon Mask silver coin had a mintage of 10k, but only approx. 2800 were sold. Given how rarely these are being offered, the majority are in the hands of collectors. And I guess at least half of them will likely buy this set to keep their collection complete. Also bear in mind that this set is not much more expensive on a per-coin basis than the sportfish sub with wooden box which I assume has a similar number of sets + box (total mintage is 6.5k and I reckon there are about 3k subs with box sets). It'll sell out for sure and most likely before it becomes available to non-MC members. But that doesn't necessarily guarantee that it will take off.

I called my supplier and he couldn't even promise me 1 set, he said the mint is keeping strict limits on this one, likely so they can maximize their profits selling directly to the public. I'm not sure if this set will be a hit, but it will sell out quickly.

I'm on the fence about the moon mask three-set coins. They look quite nice and I could easily see myself displaying these. I do like the different finishes. But, I don't own any other moon mask coins so this seems out of place given that it would be a stand alone for me.

If you like these finishes on the same coin and do not own any other masks, it will be easily to "own and display" the set as unit. As for example: I have 3 masks + "Totem Forest" coin and filling by them 5-coin box, so basically awaited just for one mask to have the theme "complete". Now suddenly 3 arrived...organizing issue. Btw: according to above, as per now, I think that I will enjoy having only one out of three (+ COA). If someone thinking in the same direction (will be satisfied with one or two coins) - let me know, please.

Interesting comment about the mid-month releases. It seems so far in 2015, the Mint is issuing a new product every week or so in addition to the monthly releases.
Frankly, I'm getting extreme coin fatigue. It's all just too much to the point that I can't even look at buying the mask coins. They're nice looking, low mintage, not ridiculously priced (in comparison to other coins) yet I have zero interest simply because there are too many coins being offered and well, next week might bring something even better.

So true... By ordering the "masks" will have to pass over the March and all these "additions".
