I have this coin that is AE27, and 10.2 gm.

It has a bust of ? with the word CAESAR above on one side, and on the Reverse there appears to be an image of Sol?

Does anyone recognise this coin, please?

Yours is a bit banged up but still a solid example.
Whenever I get done with Siliqua and coins of Magnus Maximus I think I will buy some more Julio Claudians

Many thanks A.M., Ski,. (Thanks to you) I found it at Ric 116.

It is a pity it isn't a more fine example and it could have been worth more than 'nothing'.(Lol)

These tend to go easy on one's wallet( compared to Caligula's Vesta Asses) , a good quality one can be found for about $75-100. I am sure that if you look in the right places you can get a nice one for a good price. These are very plentiful compared to Claudius's Denarii and Sestertii, I do remember an article somewhere were it states that these ( Claudian Asses) were very popular with the Legionaries posted in Britannia and on the Rhine frontiers. That may be why the are so plentiful.
