We are looking forward to seeing it filled up... and photographed... and posted in this thread. Just saying.

@GR58 - what did you use for the non-currency pages that you put your spreadsheet printouts in? Got a link for me? I'll continue to search.

So I can partially answer my own question here. One of the 9 pages included (at least in the one I received) does not have 3 pockets, it is one big pocket, perfect for a custom-sized printout/directory/info sheet.

It has been a couple years since I put those sheets together.

I am sure I must have found a site for some of it. I will have to think on it.

I might be able to Email what I do have, and you could change them
to what your needs are.

If I remember right, I printed the information sheets then had to
cut them to fit.

Thanks, GR58. I will probably take you up on your offer.

I found those pages (both extra 3-pocket currency and 1-pocket miscellaneous) on the Wizard web site, so I know where to order them now.

Now I have a question about the existing pages that shipped with the album. They don't lay flat... they're kinda wavy and buckled. Nothing too severe but I'm concerned about putting notes in there and over time the notes taking on the shape of the buckling. The pages are stiff enough that I don't see these buckles relaxing out on their own. Has anyone else seen this? Is there a way to gently heat them to soften them up and get them to lay flat or would I risk releasing something out of the plastic that might harm the notes?

The newer 2x2 pages were like that when I got them, but they flattened out once I filled the pages. The pages "thickened" with the 2x2s and filled the binder better, which helped even things out. Does that make sense?

I wonder how much thickness the notes will add to the pages, but I think the key is having enough filled pages so the binder presses them. This is where I think the slip covers would help; however, in my case the adjacent binders help keep everything closed.

I can see where a 2x2 page would flatten under the weight of coins and the cardboard, but I'm not sure 3 thin notes are going to have the same effect.

I do agree that filling the album with pages (like GR58 said it can easily fit another 10+ pages) and squashing them between the album covers would help. I plan on ordering more pages but in the meantime maybe I'll find a warm surface and see if they'll relax a bit.

Bumping this thread for any thoughts on how to "de-buckle" the stock pages that came with my Dansco 7001.

Reason I ask is I purchased a nice HAWAII note that should be showing up tomorrow and I bought the Dansco with the sole purpose of holding this note (ok, ok, with some other fine notes too). Regardless I don't want to damage any note with the storage choice.

I'm going to try to "work" the pages by removing them from the album and rolling them like a slinky (without notes in them) to see if that relaxes them.

I definitely think there's merit in filling the album with pages so that the covers squeeze the pages flat but I can't imagine that was the original intent when they only ship with 9 pages.

Maybe you can find a right sized paperback book to put in place until the time when you can (or need to) get more pages.

Interesting thought. If not a paperback, some sort of filler or sabot (for want of a better term). I'll give that a go and report back. Thanks jbuck.

No joy. The pages have a memory, so even if I squash them flat, they bounce right back as soon as the pressure is off. I guess it's not a problem if they're stored "flat" for 99.99% of the time but it bothers me when I look at a rippled page.

I think I will try a hair dryer or heat gun to see if the pages will relax.

Are the pages made from polyvinylacetate (PVA) or polyvinylchloride (PVC)?

PVA is the material used for clear stiff sheet packaging for toys, shirt boxes, batteries, tools etc. There is no softening plasticizer in it, that can gas or liquefy out onto the notes over time.

What about putting them in the oven on warm? Or, if you can wait a few months, the trunk of your car.

I just got done blasting them with my wife's hair dryer and it worked like a charm... softened the pages enough for them to relax. I flattened out the wrinkles with my hand and they stayed flat even after cooling.

Actually before I tried that, I sort of did what you suggested, jbuck. I was heating up a pizza for lunch today and put two pages on a baking sheet on the stove above the oven and that seemed to work, so rather than keep the oven on all afternoon, I went the route of the hair dryer.

I'm still going to order enough pages to fill the album, but overall pretty happy with the hair dryer result.

@sel - all I can tell from the Wizard ordering page (and from other online sources) is that they're "vinyl"...
