I found this neat error 1994D with a circle around the D mint mark. I kinda like this one but don't collect these errors. What do you think caused this?
It is progressive from split plating-zinc rot and circulation: The split happens during the strike. Then air get to the zinc and begins to make it raise and deteriorate the zinc core. Then the circulation flattens the zinc rot and flattens. Then the plating falls off when the area is affected around the mint mark. Yours is almost there.
