gusp Valued Member United States 288 Posts	Posted 11/21/2007 10:27 am It appears by one of your pics that the E in united has a full split serif at horizontal top of E on right side. If so, I say DDR. Lots of nickel hubs get worn with use (distressed, die fatigue, ect.)and some dies are made with a combination of those hubs and different less worn hubs. Looks to me to be a double die made that way. Only a guess, but from pics that is what I am seeing. Mostly tho, I am keying on the fully split serif at E if that is what I am seeing. Good Luck...G. foundinrolls Pillar of the Community United States 3507 Posts	Posted 11/21/2007 4:44 pm I have several, pictures were looked at by experts. It is not a doubled die of any kind and it occurs on nickels of many years. It is a strange form of die wear and nothing else. Report this Post to the Staff
