Went to girlfriends town (one hour drive away) and just for the heck of it....I hit a bank on the way there and asked for halves...... I only had $200.00 cash on me ! They had lots of Fed Res wrapped rolls and I got $200.00 worth. Searched them last night...... I found ONE 1964 90%er ! I'm happy with that ! Hoooray !

I will need to update the keeper list, as there have been a few more postings on the totals of every coin. The list above is based on CCF members providing a list of every coin they got and combining all the data together. It is not just based on my own searching- my own searching accounts for less than half the totals. I'll try to update this, repost that raw numbers and re-do the list of hard to find JFKs.
Whether you decide to keep/hoard the low mintages is up to you, but I would recommend keeping the higher grade coins of the low mintages/tough to find dates.
That was one amazing box, CND!

nohope587, I'm a couple of hours away from you here in Texas and I received 2 boxes of halves yesterday. I've gone through about 9 rolls and found one 40%.
My box also contains Kennedy's with hios ear blacked out. It's just my opinion, but I hate it that just because the coin has been searched, the searcher feels they have to deface the coin with a mark. That's against my principles if you ask me.
When I search a roll, I mark the coin roll with a pink sharpie. Laura

I've never "marked" a coin or roll anyway. I take ALL of my halves back to the bank LOOSE, so, it wouldn't do "me" any good to mark anything. And I certainly wouldn't take the time to mark each individual coin....

Yesterday I worked about $350 in customer rolled coins from 2 towns near here (a great reason to ride the bike, you know) and I didn't find anything.....except a 1974d DDO!! Pictures will be coming as soon as I can get Grandma away from the Magician's coins LOL (my second one) Oh look!! My 50th Post!!

No hope ,
I live in houston texas and bought over 9k last monlth on those halfs. You were talking about marking coins with an red markers. I been geting lots coins with the v red marks on them in my boxs. If its you some of coins you did are Bu or unc coins you marked. I geting piles of them aslong with coins like those marked with an black marker on the ear also on those.
There is no need to mark those coins. Reason is coin wrap inc or bricks sell those coins back to feds and they dump all those bags into an hopper with thousands of coins to be rerolled again. In those boxs with those marked up coins I been finding pre 69 coins of silver, 2002 thru 2007 coin, proof coins in there mixed up with all those marked up coins with red v or black mark on ear.
Eaxmple I bought an Fedbox dated Feb 18, 2008 . In box I pulled like 6 silver coins, lots marked coins like you were talking about with serval 2002 thru 2007 coins, proof coins. Since Feds or coin wrap mix up coins there is no need to mark coins. I dont see the point on marking them since feds mix up them all up to be rerolled. Like I said they load there machices with thousands of halfs from all banks in banking distract at coin depot to be rerolled again

I went through a box today in Dallas and got NADA for about the 10th box in a row. I did get one 2004 P, which was a nice surprise, but no silver. :(
QUESTION - so when I deposit my halves in my other bank....do you think they go to the same place as your coins from say Houston? I don't recall seeing any w/ a blacked out ear or markings of sort....and I have definitly not found any silver in a LONG time...I probably haven't found silver in almost a year..what do you think gives? All I can think of is someone new is at the Reserve that actually picks out the silver coins...I can't figure out any other explanation.

I worked $500 today and didn't find any silver. I DID find 2 more 1974d DDOs. In a different thread I asked about how common these are but that thread got moved to the varieties board and no one has answered. So, does anyone know how common the 74d DDO is? I'll try to get pics up of the new finds either late tonight or tomorrow morning

I searched a full box today and found nothing. I am starting to get frustrated. I might go back to hunting for Garbage Pail Kids cards
