Quote: this board is seriously lacking some pictures. the last two weeks for me have been remarkable, I've got approx $150 face in 90% since monday the 2nd. the first bank on monday had $80 or 4 $20 rolls of solid silver, I got lucky because the good stuff was buried below $420 worth of dumps. the $20 rolls were even marked 'franklins'. the following day I scored $31 face of BU 1964 kennedy's from an instore bank branch. And just when I thought i'd never be so lucky again I got another 4 $10 solid rolls of franklins yesterday. Happy Hunting everyone. Wow! That's not right!

Got 70.00 more in half rolls today. Only 1 1967 40%. I did pick up some uncommon dates I needed including a 1982D. I also got a roll of Eisenhowers that unfortunately was labeled 1971D once I got a chance to look at it. Now I got 20 of these that I got to figure out what to do with. They have more so each week I will pick up a few. Not a bad haul today but not as good as the first. A lot of slot machine halves. Luckily none of the silver ones are slot damaged.

We went through another $120 today, and finally struck silver! totals for silver 9-1964 0-1964-d o-1965 2-1966 4-1967 5-1968-d 2-1969-d 0-1970-d In clads, it was mostly innumerable amounts of 1971,1972,1973 and 1976 of both mints, but there were a couple nice finds 1-1979-D in AU 1-1983-P BU 1-1986-D BU 1-1988-D BU Needless to say, it was a great bunch, and I will be returning to that bank soon

Just asked the girls at my bank if the had any rolls of halves and the said they had $200 worth, but the we sure the rolls had been picked through. So I bought $100 anyway and came across ten 40%ers... Some in very nice condition. I guess someone wasn't looking too hard. lol. It's not very hard to spot silver. Oh well, be back tomorrow to get the other $100.

Went to a SunTrust bank today for halves and the teller said she didn't have any, that another person was asking for them earlier.....but..she said, "Let me double check." She ended up finding $80 worth and out of that $80 came $5.50 in 40%ers (5 were in one roll, all "toned" crazily and with Machine Doubling on the reverse of 3).

I had another productive day on the half-searching front. I worked two boxes and found 8 40%ers, a 1974s proof, a 1979s proof, 3 1974d DDO, and...............18-90%ers. The breakdown on the 90% is: 1-1964 Kennedy 2-1964d Kennedy 1-1959d Franklin 1-1958d Franklin 1-1954s Franklin 1-1951s Franklin 1-1947 Walker 2-1944d Walker 1-1943s Walker 3-1942 Walker 2-1941 Walker 1-1941s Walker 1-1939 Walker Can you say time for the happy dance?

We went through another $120 today, and the total for silver is up to 10 total 90%(all 1964-p) and 35 total 40%. We've also found our first proof, a 1981-S. Our set of circulation strikes is also almost complete, only ones we still need are: 1964-d 1965 1970-D 1978-D 1981-D 1982-D 1987-P 1987-D 1992-D 1993-D 1994-P 1999-P 2001-P 2002-P&D 2003-P&D 2004-P&D 2005-P&D 2006-P&D 2007_P&D 2008-P&D

I once found an entire BU roll of 1983D's and a BU roll of 1986Ds. Am I right to think that these are certainly worth keeping?

florida- well while the rolls were entirely of the same coins 83D & 86D, they were just in bank wrappers rather than the mint sealed BU roll wrappers. I have since put them into tubes. Does this affect the value?

It is interesting to me how many walkers are showing up lately. I worked a few boxes last week and came up with 2 walkers ( which I needed for my dansco) 4 franklins and 7 forty percenters. A pretty respectable haul. It was just cool to find some walkers.
On a side note picked up a box of dimes and got 2 silver 1964 dimes and one looks proof like. Good hunting and keep it up!!

So far I have been $250 in 1/2 dollars. Mostly 1971-72-74 Nothing worth removing. Hope the next $250 go better. What is with the 83D and 86D

Archraz, when did the Mint start using the clear wrappers? I would think that's something newer in the past decade or so. Storing them in tubes, don't think it'll decrease the value. At coin shows, I've seen rolls of BU coins in the square tubes and bank wrappers. Just be sure that they don't get pvc damage on them.
