Make sure you use "tubes" designed for COINS .......then they'll be "PVC FREE"......and there won't be an issue with long term storage.....in fact it'll be better than the paper rolls which aren't air tight obviously...

I just wanted to add that sometimes rolls that have been dumped can still yield some good finds. I went through $100 that were probably dumped by someone and found a 1999-P, a 2004-P and several BU 1986-D's and a couple BU 1988-D's. Some people apparently ignore ALL clads, which is great for me. I enjoy finding low mintage clads and NIFCs as much as silver, sometimes even a little more. That 2004-P made my day.

over the passed few weeks I've released at least $50 worth of 2002 and newer nifc, its just not worth saving for me. i'd trade them 2 to 1 for 40% halves but I doubt anyone would make that trade

3 '87-D's in the last 4-5 months. One was from a teller who had only 1 Kennedy in her tray. What luck!

florida- The mint is usually not the one that wraps circulated coins. There are certain companies which do such a thing for banks. I think that N. F. String & Son is one such company of note. Thanks for the info about the tubes. It is good to know that my BU rolls are still technically just that.

Hi all Just worked a $500 box and it kept me pretty absorbed. I found 8 40%, 4 90% (a 63d Franklin, 2 64d Kennedy, and a 64 Kennedy), a 1981s proof, a 1984s proof, and 2 1976s proofs. I also found a 1972 Gold-plated Kennedy and a 1972d Gold-plated Kennedy counterstamped 1960-1985. There was a 2006d nifc Kennedy and a 1971d that may have a lamination (I'll post to the varieties and errors board later on for input) All in all a very cool box of coins....the only thing missing was some walkers and DDOs

^ Check that 81-S. I received an 81-S penny in change years ago and it looks to possibly (and possibly is key) be a Type 2.

@photoeric21: Telling them at the bank you need halfs for a poker game is awesome. I just may have to play a poker game using halfs. lol
