First time I have searched in years..... Found this forum a few days ago and it got me interested in collecting again!

Has anyone found out if 2005 Kennedy's were put into circulation by the Mint? I came up with 23 out of a box and a half. They all look like they haven't been in circulation very long. Red Book says that they were, and about a million more were minted, compaired to the other years. |

BTW, the US Mint does not circulate any coins- that is the job of the Federal Reserve and they stopped ordering new half dollars in 2000. |

Yeah; Just a situation of being in the right place at the right time.
I went back a week later, playing dumb, and said I found a 'few' good ones, and did they get any more. Seems a lady was cleaning out a desk or something, and brought them in; at least that is what the teller remembers. I've been going back every week, but no more yet. It will take a lot of luck to top that. Happy hunting!

That's quite the "wish list" that includes the 2008's !.......  I know there's been some 2007's found in rolls though.......so they might start popping up soon actually !.....  |

Hey all,
I picked up $220 worth today and found 34 40%. The best (and worst part) was that the scond roll was all 40% silver coins and that really got me going, thinking I had the MOTHER LODE with me. I found another half roll and a few onesies twosies.
Overall, it was a GREAT haul, and I am making great progress towards amassing my hordes of silver Kennedys.

The most I have found at one time is $280 in 40 percent halves. Needless to say it got my hooked. My goal is to find an entire box from circulation. Has anyone done this yet?

That is indeed a lofty goal. My goal is to complete a Franklin set from circulation. It might take a while.

I went through an entire bag of $1000 in halves... not a silver to be found. What a pity.
