Wow, that is a lot to take in.

Like Ddave said, you are not alone here. Post what you can, when you can, and help will come.

Dansco folders. Now those are interesting. People seldom believe me when I say Dansco also made folders.

Wow am I envious. Daunting, yes, but ban what a lot of fun. Had a similar thing with my mother in law. She wanted my opinions on her small Morgan and Peace dollar collection. Only about 50 coins. It was a blast. Take your time and document everything. Have fun with it...

My mother in law has a small purse with 17 silver dollars and 5 classic gold coins that she wants me to have when she is gone. She let me take a look to catalog them for her. 13 different dates/mints of Morgans, 3 1924 Peace and a 1927 Peace, 1861 and 1911 quarter eagles and 1881, 1907, and 1914 half eagles. I didn't have my magnifier with me so couldn't check for 'D' mintmark on the 1911 and 1914 gold, but will do that later. Morgans include dates from 1878 to 1902, with one 'S' and one 'O'.

Nice iontire... I'm hoping for gold too since he bought in the 80s and 90s or earlier when spot was stupid low. Apparently he was into EVERYTHING. Think an episode of hoarders but if the guy was a coin collector.

Not necessarily a bad thing, variety being the spice of life. At least he was focused on coins.

What a large variety of albums and folders.

You can keep this a general interest photo thread without specific questions. As needed, create a thread in the appropriate forum when you have specific questions, just as you have done with the Lincoln album & folder and old copper threads.

I had to do this last year @cascade. My dad's coin holdings were concentrated in modern proof sets mostly containing gold & silver, and not as vast. I used the best dealer in my area to liquidate it, and put the cash in the estate account. This was easy compared to the securities and real estate. But I don't care for the new stuff so it wasn't as fun as your task.

The only coin my dad ever bragged about was a 1931-S Lincoln he found in circulation when he was a kid. Who knows where it went. I hope not in a landfill along with the 50 transistor radios and heirloom collection of Mason jars full of rocks and screws.

Well, if they were all Morgan dollars I'd bet you would have them all VAMmed by now.

I like that Library of Coins Mercury album. I have one of those as my second set and several other series.
