You got that right Darth I'm still hoping for the morgan stash larger than 5he peppered danscos, it HAS to be there or I will cry... think I'll start with pics of the peppered type set. Don't think there's anything huge in it but I saw some nice color

I honestly think the Jefferson is the rock star of that bunch. Closer, please? Beautiful examples of album toning. Could I have a set of the ASE and the Ike for my teaching archive, as examples of what we're absolutely sure to be album toned Moderns? The Ike looks strong.

Well that was an interesting bit of cardio on the old ticker. I think my heart rate doubled while reading and viewing the posts and photos provided to date. Can certainly imagine it has your heart racing too.
Just so I'm on board with your initial post, are you saying your stepfather's Dad filled a 10x10 storage unit full of boxes of coins?
I have probably 5K coins housed in Danscos and boxes of flips and it could fit in two to three packing boxes. If that's the case, you probably have a few coin stores worth of coins.
If I opened a storage container to see such a haul, you'd have to go get me chair so I could take a seat before I just collapsed to the floor. The stunned look I'd have and being rendered speechless would probably have those around me thinking I just suffered a stroke.
All I can say is good gracious ... how much fun you're going to have going through that collection. And heck, I'm as about as excited for you and I'm just a bystander wanting to hear what you've found.
Amazing ... just absolutely amazing!

Yes, if my heart dosent slow down soon I'm gonna need beta blockers!... he collected for over 35yrs and probably since childood in the 50s. And apparently he never sold anything. He was part of barter clubs and would trade only. He had a stroke in early 2000s so from then on he only did State Quarters and penny's to pass the time post stroke so there are buckets full of those and even a sealed metal keg filled with as yet unidentified coins. He also liked buying littleton Post stroke apparently. So what I'm dealing with is a hoarders life long collection after barters and such. Main focus was coins and bullion but branches to fine antiques and collectibles, gemstones, native American and western items like a Navajo prayer rug or remington bronzes and more... this is going to take up my life for the forseeable Future but it's what I do. However never to this extent

Wow, that is exiting! No one in my family, or even extended families, collects coins. Quote: Hoped he didn't get ripped off with all the littleton That's what I thought when I saw the packaging! Anyway, are you cataloging it for sale or...?

He certainly liked his Jefferson nickels didn't he. That flying eagle looks like it was cleaned and then sat in the album for years and years to recolor like that. That ASE has incredible appeal.
