It looks like someone purchased 5 sealed boxes of 5 sets each last night: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro...045573.m1684These auctions ended all within 15min of another which is usually a sign that someone snapped them up one after the other. Strange though to pay so much, as there are several other buy-it-now's available for less...

Looks like 2 of those boxes were my auctions too. The 2 for $899 each.

Oh, and about my single coin that I kept that I've been posting pictures here on. I have opened the capsule and checked it. It is not a piece of lint or hair or fuzz, it is actually stamped into the coin and cannot be removed. It's kinda cool to me.

Quote: 40 sets sold at increasing prices... Nice example of supply and demand.

Yes Cascade, that looks amazing. I've been lurking around a bit with a few forums and I saw your strike through and that's what made me want to open one of the boxes I received to search for something cool like yours.

These rising prices makes me wonder what the value would be selling a full set of these four C&C sets? By then the Truman may be the most expensive one (unless possibly the Kennedy surpasses it even with the higher mintage). Who knows for these four in the future selling for $800? That would be pretty sweet...

That why most people, I think, need 5 of the others now because of truman. My guess is most people (aside dealers, flippers or ppl like jbuck getting only 1) will be enlisting 2 friends to get a total of 6. So what the mint did was actually de facto UP the hh limit by 1 because we all are forced to get 6 now

$900 a box? I should have waited. Going out to the recycle bin to look at my $170 piece of cardboard.

Look at the profit you did make though Kairu. You never know what the future will bring. You still made a good decision to sell when you did.

I received my two sets I ordered on Saturday. STRANGE STORY THOU. The shipping label was made on Sunday night. The mint sends me an email on Monday morning telling me the item has shipped via Fed Ex Smartpost. so on Wednesday afternoon, I check on tracking of the shipment. It says that shipping label has been created and as soon as the item starts to ship my tracking information will be updated.
I call the US Mint and Fed EX. Neither one could explain if the item has been picked up or even if the label is on the box. Thursday morning at 8am and 9 am , I check the tracking again. No information is showing besides the " shipping label has been created." At 11:30 am. the postman knocks on my door and has my package. DON'T FIGURE. Happy but confused as why shipping details never updated on the tracking information.

cmjohnso,
The exact same thing happened with my shipping item. I was beginning to get worried that something was wrong. Possibly a system failure since we both had the issue.
