Still patiently waiting for mine. They shiped right away. I tracked them around country via fed ex. They are lost between fed ex and the post office. Basically, they got lost in the hand off. Im, peeved, cause I know the outcome and I'm not happy. Out come will be a full refund....yippy skippy.

I doubt that will have any major affect on the price. NGC and PCGS are the primary grading companies most will look at. ANACS is a valid company, but appears to have less stringent criteria and as such, most don't place a high value on their 70's.
I am wondering why anyone would pay extra for an ER/FS label on these coins - specifically - since all of the coins are released in the first 30 days. It seems rather fruitless to spend good money saying I got mine to the graders - and it points out just how ridiculous the labels really are, when all the coins in the entire release qualified at release.

Doug, I agree the FS/ER labels are money making gimmicks, but they bring more money on ebay so that is what I really care about. PCGS auctions are bringing roughly $75 more for a set of 69s vs NGC.

Ponch... the problem I have with the labels is they are just that money schemes and nothing more. People are convinced they need them because they make money, TPG foisted them on buyers to make TPG money, and sellers love them because they make them money. This entire release is by the standards set by TPG a ER/FS release. Which is showing exactly how little that label means, and I have no idea why people would spend money buying it. 20 years from now will anyone care that you got your coin graded within 30 days of the product release. (heck I don't care now and never have cared exactly when someone got a coin graded). The graders care, because they created a "I Must get this graded now" environment for people - which is all the labels are doing.

People are asking about "breaking out" the coins. It is just an air tite type holder, it will open easily and can be replaced without damage. Maybe you already knew that, but in case you didn't, I have had mine out to photograph, then put them right back in.

Let me change focus for a minute...
I finally read the booklet that comes with the Truman C&C set.
Anyone else notice a factual error on page 15? Or am I missing something "technical" here?

I saw the part about the Jefferson nickel being "first issued" during his administration (page 15 of the info brochure) and had to think about it for a couple of minutes. I then reread the part on page 14 and it became clear what they were referring to. The statement on page 14 refers to "Select Congressional actions and laws enacted under Truman..." with one of those "laws or actions" that returned the alloy from the Wartime silver composition (1942-1945) to the former pre-war nickel/copper composition of 1938. The statement is confusing if you don't take pages 14 and 15 collectively. It could have been written better, however.

It really doesn't matter what YOU think. As was mentioned: Quote:I agree the FS/ER labels are money making gimmicks, but they bring more money on ebay so that is what I really care about. Belief vs fact....do what you believe and the facts will prove you wrong

Fox... actually it doesn't matter to me ..what you think. I believe the FS/ER are nothing more than a gimmick and a label and change nothing about the actual coin inside the holder.
Time will tell, but a coin collector, collects coins - and I am a coin collector.

I AGREE with your statement 100%..really...100%...but...the facts say differently and I will go with the facts over my (and your) beliefs Collect what you want to collect.that is what the game is about....keep them in the OGP which is a MUCH better (albeit sometimes space consuming) presentation tool. I collect AND sell my coins so I go with the flow....if I am sending a coin for grading then $5 is a no brainer for me
